CLEANING UP UGLY CORNERS - PART1 - PORTUGAL-MEDITERRANEAN GARDEN

We have many projects to do in our backyard that involve beautifying and cleaning up. One of those is this corner where we have an old water tank, well and a little shed. All three of those are very awkwardly placed and we need to keep all of them for now at least. So only thing we can do is to clean up, paint and try to decorate it to fit into our garden.
Here we have filmed the Part1 of this process. We hope we can finish it this weekend, so keep your eyes open for the final reveal.

Hi guys! Great job cleaning it up. It looks nice already. I would paint it white, this reduce heat absorption by the wall and can make your house cooler during the winter. Lizards drop their tails on purpose when they feel threatened. They do it to distract predators. You probably did not hurt it, and the tail grows back easily in a few weeks. If you have no purpose for the roof you just cleaned, you could put one water tank there to collect the rain from the roof. I'm not sure your gutters can direct water there, but it would allow you to save water at a higher level, maintaining its potential energy. It also could allow you to divert excess rain water into the concrete tank below. Why are you guys burning this wood instead of trying to incorporate it into the soil/compost? Wood is high in Carbon and low in Nitrogen, so it takes longer to decompose - but if you mix leaves that are high in N and low in C, you can speed up this process.

Hi Marcelo, thanks 👍 good to know that we didn't hurt the lizard too badly 🙂 yes, painting everything white except the interior of the water tank which will be a light blue paint specific to be under water. We will add gutters to the engine room later and route them into the tank to catch every possible drop of rain (the idea is to do the same from the house and storage room, but those will need a bit more planning).
