Thank you so much. I'm staying at Air B in Albania and have never seen one of these machines. I need to be here a couple weeks while waiting for my apartment, so really needed to know how to clean the filter. I had been told that the dryer won't work if it's full of water, which makes sense. But, nothing in the manual showed how to do it. You are an ANGEL! Thank you.

Thank you for showing this. Mine's a newer machine but that black screw/filter lid looks exactly like mine. I tried unscrewing it, thinking it would be just dry lint in there that I could vacuum, but it wouldn't budge. At least now I know to be prepared for some water coming out when I finally get it open. 😅 (And the annoying part is, there's no explanation or pictures of this in the manual!!)
@BorbasBence9 ай бұрын
Yes, the manual has a QR code which took me to the website where I could find the very same manual that I had on paper (with the same QR code inside) :D It also mentions a "detailed guide" downloadable from the website but at this point I feel like that detailed guide never existed.

G'day, I have a similar modern machine. Forums say that lint does accumulate on these and it occured to me that the lint filter doesn't look like it filters much at all.. there's no grating or mesh like I've seen on other front loaders. I just wonder if these are more for very large bits of debris rather than lint. What lint would these trap? Seems to me the lint won't get trapped by anything in that chamber. Yes mine looks the same as yours and it's a whirlpool combo.
@bootsowen3 ай бұрын
Yes. More of a coin trap. The combi washer dryers don’t really have a lint trap.

How long is a piece of string? If you have fairly clean clothes and check pockets then rarely. But if you leave coins and keys and tissues etc in your pocket then more often. 6 months? What does your manual say?

I don't know what you are capable of! ;-) Unplug it, take the cover off and have a look inside. I guess it depends on how it has broken and what skills you have. Don't leave the machine unattended with the top off, especially if you have kids around. But whatever you do is up to you.

Hi James, I filled this machine with concrete. However, I think that I posted a few videos about how to remove the circuit board on this machine when I was trying to get it going. So that one should have the information you are looking for. Maybe search for whirlpool PCB repair?

Even though I have a different model the filter was at the same place. It was very clean but for some reason every now and then my washing machine gets a red notification for water so I thought it was the specific filter but as I said it was very clean. Does anyone have any idea why this is happening ? I did check and I always had water in the house so it’s not water matter. Thanks in advance.

Dude, you have to take out the filter COMPLETELY and wash it.
@bootsowen Жыл бұрын
why?
@Optimista1234 Жыл бұрын
@@bootsowen Because there can be dirt still. At least in mine there was.
@bootsowen Жыл бұрын
It is important to take out large particles, but if there is any sludge or grime on the filter or inside then it is likely that all of the hoses and inside the drum is dirty too. So really you would need to do a few hot washes to flush out the sludge. Also. The drain pump is on the way out of the machine so if it is dirty then that dirt won’t come in contact with your clothes. So tell me again why?

My filter refuses to move =( I can only move it about 90 degrees counter clockwise before it just stops, and no amount of force lets me screw it further, the instructions that came with the machine are horrendous and doesn't even apply to my machine, and just say "move it counterclockwise while pulling the filter outwards" first of all I literally can not move it more than 90 degrees, the SMALL thing that you're supposed to hold onto while screwing is the smallest shit ever and barely fits in my hand, so it's already fucking hard to even move it counterclockwise and no amount of fucking force I'm using moves it the slightest. Man I regret getting this washing machine so badly.

@@bootsowen thank you very much, I'm gonna give that I try, I was trying to fix and pull for hours and I just got so frustrated, but I'll be sure to check out your other video then =) also it's genious to use a wrench like that, ;_; I just hope I dont have to tilt the machine, because there's a dryer ontop of it, they're connected with like a sort of.. belt? or w/e and it's standing on a anti-vibration table too... so hopefully the wrench and some wiggling solves it ;_;
@Ringrostig3 жыл бұрын
@@bootsowen Thanks again, by using the wrench as an anchor and wriggling back and forth and applying a bit more pressure than I would've liked I could get the lid to open, and lo and behold, the only thing inside?
