hi, I have placed new ink cartridges into my printer and they are the correct ones too. But the problem is that the new ink cartridges are not being detected by the printer, therefore the amount of ink still appears to be low. What should I do?

If you have a canon printer that has seperate print head and cartridges you may have to replace the printhead for about $30. I did off ebay for a mx870 and it worked like a charm. Another 8 years for printer!!! Use refillable cartridges too.

I have a MP530 printer that is reading check cartridge U052. That came up right after I replace the cyan cartridge. I tried cleaning those contact spots with non-fibrous tissue with no luck. Thinking MAYBE the cartridge was defective, I put another new one in, with still no luck. Heavens, do I need a new printer? Of course, it's the weekend and Support only works Monday thru Friday. So, no printer, and I'm lucky I can do without it for a couple of days. I'm more than frustrated.

HELP anyone ? I've replaced the black cartridge on my MX410 with a new CANON brand and keep getting the error message: "Check ink, UO51, Color Blk" When I try to print I get this on my PC screen: "The following ink cartridge cannot be recognized. Color Black" (again, I bought the CANON brand) I've had this printer for 10 years and never seen this before. Any help out there would be most appreciated as Canon does not support this old of printer any longer.

*whew* with a couple of weeks of messing around with the printer, it is working again. Thanks for the tip on cleaning the INSIDE of the printer, then I hit the stop button for 5 seconds and VOILA! It's working again. That and a lot of prayers ;-)

Do not clean the contacts inside the printer I did that and my printer simply fed a page through the printer without printing it now only prints on my old computer with windows XP Windows 10 is a disaster for my printer now the only way to print is to convert my files to PDF’s

The ink cartridge should not have anything to do with using the scanner. I am very upset because I cannot clear my U059 error and I have tried this and 10 other sites noting is working. If anyone has any ideas please let me know thank you

I contacted Canon about this problem before. They said you have to get Canon ink cartridges only. No duplicates. There is a chip in the Canon cartridges that the printer reads to allow it to work. Someone had posted somewhere that they cleared this message before, which is why I was back on this site to see if I could find it because I just bought some generic replacements and now I am getting the U059 message. I thought it was to hold the stop button for 5 seconds but that's not working. If I remember right it did work for the black ink when I replaced it but now it's not working for my color ink. I noticed my Canon ink cartridges are a little bit longer than the generic ones I just bought, which may be the problem.

Trick: I recommend use a "eraser pencil" to clean contacts of cartridge and printer is the best way (please don't use any chemical solutions), greetings...

all Canon printers in this series - MG5150, 5250 and 5350 have a counter built in that makes them FAIL after a certain time - all with either B200 or U052 errors there's nothing actually wrong with the printer, it's just Canon's way of saying "Fuck you" to their customers

Solution: NEVER BUY a CANON PRINTER If you like spending nights on forums,, all kind of sequences, error codes etc. you tube, go ahead , buy a CANON printer If you just ant to print: buy anything else I bought a Canon G3100, same issues as my old Canon printer (M-something, printer head burned out..) : stupid error codes, wasting much time on youtube, forums , still not working ERROR1234, ERROR 5678, it never stops. Even after a factory reset (find the sequence yourself... Power, 5x something, then something else.. )) DON'T BUY CANON A PRINTER, BUY ANYTHING ELSE (eg EPSON) I live in Honduras, Hey Canon, you pay for shipping etc ? Better I throw it on the fire and buy an EPSON. Wasted too much $$$ and time on CANON garbage.
