Clear Lake Report. 02-20-2024

We made a trip around the lake today to review/report on the primary launch ramps after this current storm.

Thank you for taking the time to do a lap of the lake today. That was my truck at the Oaks. I spent 5 hours out there graphing and my bilge pumps got a good workout. The rain was really getting with it!

Thanks for making the drive Ross, here at Discovery Bay fishing is slow, 55 degrees surface temp and about 3 feet visibility. Windy.

@@clearlakeguideservice2509 well fishing out of Ladds last week, winning weight was 8.2 for five and many did not limit. Although I just moved here 3 months ago, I can’t seem to find the bite. Working drop shot real slow you can pick up a few, may just be me, but my next door neighbor is a pro and seems to be having trouble getting a bag. Maybe I need to get out with a guide………😏

Hey Ross, thanks for the report. What goes up must come down, nice to have a full pool to play in. Hopefully it slows a bit and there is not too much damage around the edges. I was up last week, not a single bite when everybody and their brother using an underspin had nice bags. Still stings…

Have you (or anybody else) had much experience fishing off deep v hulls in clear lake? Obviously concerned about getting the deep v too shallow. Thanks!

While I haven’t fished out of one I’ve seen folks who do. The majority of the lake is currently plenty deep enough that you shouldn’t worry about the depth.
