AA 1324 Miami to Chicago. Beautiful & clear evening. Same night as the Nik Wallenda tightrope stunt, so the river/Marina Towers area is illuminated.

American cities are so neatly organized like a grid. It makes them so easy to locate oneself. Easier than that is impossible. Only American, Canadian and Australian cities have that in the world.

They look nice at above that’s about it. Our cities not that nice and are basically planned all around cars. European cities are much better designed imo

Facts. Love Chicago. Never flew into Chicago but I flew into Las Vegas at night and flew out of Las Vegas during the day and it was beautiful too. But Chicago will always be my favorite city.

My favorite part of watching the plane landings, to listen to the engines sounds govern back for a smooth landing.

Chicagos a infrastructure marvel when it comes to looking at it from above its a litertal perfect grid. If only there wasnt so much construction of the roadways this city would be efficient

Different cities, tiny blanket of lights. Down there people going to and fro some going home, some going to work. Unreal sight, unreal feeling, city upon city of tiny blanket of lights.

Great clear video! Starting around 3:06, across the middle of the screen, you can make out the "Doglegs" of North Ave (Rt 64). These are about the only continual area of the city wherein a majority of the north/south arterial streets "Dogleg" at North Ave., i.e. these streets do not line up. It was my understanding these were caused by sectional misalignment of adjoining rural land parcels in the past. Many of these doglegs were eventually mellowed out beginning in the 1960s but still obvious in this clear video.

This is my favorite video, what an event, Chicago-lights-plane-engines, look at it often, I use to live there, now I'm in Kentucky, this is mesmerizing, feels like I'm on this plane. Wish I could fly somewhere every week. Is that too much to ask?

When I'm flying, which I've done so many times and to so many places, I always wonder what are the areas without lights. Are they water, are they forests, are they empty spaces? It also took me quite a while to figure that some geometric figures on the ground are actually the reflection of the light from light posts on the ground.
