Swan is a great redfish lake especially on a low tide, and that little reef by the old stevedores camp is a good winter time fishing on a incoming tide. & all the rip rap along the SE side of the old causeway RR bridge, but in the winter I’ll take off colored moving waters over clear it holds more heat and fish seem to feed more aggressively in it? I really like that little skiff it’s seems very versatile and can get skinny! Nice fishing!!

@@KagenFishing the new maps from today are really good maps to have but if you can get a hold to some maps from the 50s and 60s like I have they Mark a lot of really great locations some of them went to reprint and they labeled them with different names however when you hear someone say a name you never heard those are considered old salts an old map can be really valuable especially when you're looking for the old intercoastal and ghost rigs if you can get your hands on any they're worth it keep a tight line that water was really clear

I’m thinking of getting a solo skiff. Right now I have have a 19 outback and a 19 17’ coastal skiff that gets real shallow but not quite kayak shallow. I was thinking of selling my outback for a solo skiff because the stretch of water I live on now is about 4 miles one way to where I like to kayak fish. What do you think about the solo skiff vs outback? I love my boat but sometimes I just want to put in quick from my yard and not pack the boat and not make the trek in the kayak at the same time if that makes sense. Love the videos and been binge watching.
@KagenFishing4 жыл бұрын
Mud Duck Fishing I had an outback and went to the solo and every time I take my skiff out im happy I made the switch. The solo gets skinnier than my outback did and having the motor to spot hop and then get home quick is game changing. I also still launch my solo in the same ditch like spots that I launched my outback in.
@MudDuckFishing4 жыл бұрын
Kagen Fishing I was thinking the same thing. Spot hopping is my main issue where I live now because spots aren’t as close together as the last area I lived. Thanks for the reply
@boashna4 жыл бұрын
good video - you need to be an expert to ride the skiff among big tankers - FYI never go to gyb area since pilot boats take off from gyb and go to north jetty and back .. every time I see them I am yelling and stopping since my 20 ft boat gets pounded by 4 to 6 ft waves .. I hate them
@KagenFishing4 жыл бұрын
boashna I work in UTMB and I can see down where the pilot boats blast in and out from where I work. Yah they fly in and out of there with no real regard for any other boat. I get it they have a job to do but it does get sketchy! I have gone over some of those rollers once in the solo skiff. Just have to make sure to you go straight into them at slow speed, the self bailing hull was a life saver cause any other skiff without that feature would have got swamped.

Hey dude love the videos , I've got a solo skiff and a mavic pro aswell. My question is how are you taking off and landing with that drone. I know a lot of KZbinrs like the phantom for the legs to grab hold of. I completely understand why you wouldn't want that one for storage reasons. Just trying to get my drone out while I fish here in Florida. Wondering how you are doing it. Keep up the good work

Im glad you enjoy the vids! Its sketchy but I hand launch (just hold it and hit launch on remote and it will take off from hand) make sure there isnt anything like rods up in the air for it to run into. ALso you have to be sitting still or it will fly sideways into water. Then landing I get it turned sideways grab the underneath it and then turn over untill it shuts down... Practice over ground first haha. Good luck and I would love to make a trip to florida to fish in the solo!
