I have had an above ground pool for 6 years now and always use Clorox products and my pool is always crystal clear. Everyone who comes over always comments at how clean and clear it is. When I fill it I shock it right away. I mix the shock with water in a bucket 1st. Then once a week I use algaecide with clarifying. I vacuum almost daily and I keep a cover on it at night. I also add a stabilizer. I pour the graduals in a sock and tie a knot and hang from inside of the pool since it has to slowly dissolve.

Last year I had an 1000 gallon pool and took care of it with Chlorox products. The water remained clear and clean all summer. The small pool care kit worked out great! I haven’t seen those kits in the stores this year!

Hey I have a small kids pool with a pump. It’s a 8 ft by 30 ft round summer waves. My alkalinity is 240 very dark blue & my ph is 8.4 I’ve already put 3 cups and a half of Clorox ph down it’s not working. Prior to putting that in I put in a 3 inch chlorine tablet and one clear balance tablet. Please help? Idk what to do to fix it or what I should be putting in it.

I use the disk. They last longer and treats up to 5,000 gallons. I have a 15x48 Intex with a 2100 gph sand filter. I get one every two weeks

I put chlorine tablets in my filter that goes in the pump. And I add a floating chlorine dispenser ! And my pool goes from late June to Early September ! I leave the pump working all the time except when I clean or change the filter ! Water stays amazingly clear !

This is nothing. The older blue one I had up for over eight years was worse, with nearly a three-inch depth difference. My newly-placed Ultra Frame isn't as bad. These pools are fairly tolerant of minor ground imperfections. They don't require "glass-sheet" ground leveling.

No its not...and you dont have to shock regularly. If you keep shocking that water it will over chlorinate. Which is what i just did...bc there is no guide set for pools under 5000 gallons only 10000 and up

Hi I have purchased an above ground Bestway rectangular pool measuring 2.59m x 1.70m x 70cm which equals about 2300 litres of water or 608 gallons. Mine must have less as I dids not fill it so high. The question is I have no idea how to care for the water. I bought some chlorine tablets and a floater but am not sure what setting to use ie how many of the little windows to have open. Also I have some testing sticks. The free chlorine was on 0, the pH was extremely high around 7.8 and the total alkalinity was very high about 180. Can someone please advise what the numbers should be for each and what to do to get the correct level for safety and clarity. Thanks so much! Susan

Well, not exactly. Most drinking water is treated with chemicals for it to be considered healthy enough to drink - untreated drinking water can cause a laundry list of issues. So when it comes to pools, it's similar to use products to ensure water is sanitary for swimming. For example, Without the sanitizers keeping water clean, water-bourne bacteria and harmful diseases can spread to swimmers causing a list of health issues. Water should also be balanced properly to not bother swimmers eyes, skin, hair, or nasal cavities. Clarifiers and algaecides work to maintain a clear and clean pool, so you don't have to use as much chlorine in the pool. If these chemicals are used properly, they should not harm swimmers. :)

It says 1lb of shock per 10,000 gallons. So 0.5 lb would be for 5,000 gallons, 0.25 lb would be for 2,500 and so on.
