I love that Andy drops invitation that if Earl’s mom needs anything to reach out. A very small caveat of the conversation but it seems to fit Andy’s personality spot on.

Every other Medal of Honor recipient I listened to were war stories that were serious and super technical in how they dispatched the enemies, but Earl's MOH story was like a Tropic Thunder sequel movie filmed with excessive Michael Bay explosions and unintentional Hot Shots comedy.

My cousin is CWO3 Mark Colbert, Chief Colbert, that Plumlee mentions in this video. Earl Plumlee is the definition of an American Hero. He makes America a better place. We're blessed to have him.

I was an MP stationed at Ft Hood in 1981, there was an SSG/E-6 in my unit that received the MH as an infantryman in Nam. He lived in the barracks in a single room. Anytime there was a barracks inspection, he would lay out his Medal on his bunk and leave. No one said shit about it

I haven't laughed this much in as long as I can remember. You guys are the bomb and my abs are actually starting to get sore. I need sleep in the worst way but I'm not closing my eyes till the very end. It's not at all a laughing matter but the way you both lay it down it's imposible not to. Thank you both from the bottom of my heart for your service and I can't wait to hear it all over again later on today. You've reimforced my pride to be an American in these uncertain political times and I'm going to do everthing possible to keep the moral uplifted knowing how much heart you both put into excelling in combat to keep our country safe. I'm so glad I caught this podcast and I can't rieterate how much respect I have for both of you and all those who fought as bravely as you guys did and especially for all soldiers that paid the ultimate price. 🇺🇸🔥👍

That was just sooooooo good. Great exchange, I was just on the edge of my seat listening. I enjoyed the end especially when Andy and Earl both agreed, "when your done your done, let it go" in not so many words. I did that after 21 years a combat pilot. Yep... god bless the Republic!

I know former SEAL’s and a former Delta Colonel who you would never look twice at if you passed by them in a grocery store. They look that way by their own personal design. They don’t want to stand out in any way. They want to blend in, and be left alone.

What always amazes me about guys like Mr. Plumlee and Roger Hayden and many of the other "older" ( seasoned?) warriors is that these dangerous and deadly, tip of the spear type dudes all look like your beer swillin "Uncle Bob"....lol.... just regular men who perform extraordinary tasks and then head home to be Dads and husbands and brothers. Great interview Mr. Stumpf. ( Not sure you've ever interviewed any Canadian S.F dudes from JTF-II who served in Afgh. but that would be an incredible conversation....just sayin....)

I would have like to know how he felt about leaving just as Marsoc was being stood up and the fact he most likely would have been pulled from the recon community into Marsoc had he stayed. They just about immediately started deploying to Afghanistan in 06-07 where as his SF route delayed another deployment until 2013. In regards to chasing the dragons tail it's interesting they missed talking about that being another example
