To me, this is a video to come back to at any time when I feel like something in my life sucks, at almost any level. I feel like the perspective discussion captured here is something to remember, and return to when needed. This is a true(ly) inspirational story... and may also be a lesson in the value of well-directed stubbornness, never feeling sorry for yourself, and a never quit attitude. Personally, a huge thank you for this.

My late great uncle lost both his legs in the Second World War when he was 18. He didn’t even have a wheelchair for half a year and was carried around their apartment by his dad. It makes me emotional just thinking about it - he was one of the most generous, hard working men I ever knew and didn’t complain once. I have tremendous respect for vets who risked and gave so much for us. Thank you very much Sir

I’m sitting in a hospital bed currently. Just had an above the knee amputation. Where Nick is an inspiration most people would think they could just push through all of this like it is a movie. The reality is where Nick inspires us when I learn how to just sit up on the edge of my bed. And it hurts so fucking bad the doctor says it’s okay just lay back down. You say push it a little further and get your ass to edge of the bed. Cussing and blowing snot out of your nose.

Great episode!! While at Ft Bragg, I thought most of our jumps are night, 800ft. for regular jumps. 1200ft, is safety for training. For combat, 600ft is the minim to jump and have a reserve chute deploy, so anything below that level is pointless.
