I am doing a little work for a friend clearing some overgrown field with a mini excavator. The purpose is too reclaim this as plowable and plantable field. Enjoy.

Taking it back! Thanks for the video, I'm looking at buying a 35d and this has given me a good perspective on the machines capacity. Thanks Mate!

Nice job, Bus! Seems like ‘forestation’ is as big a problem in Maine as here in Norway. Good to see those stonewalls exposed again. A reminder of the hard work our ancestors put in breaking the land into pastures.

Its crazy how fast the woods take over here! There are no real wild openings aside from swamps here. Trees! The walls are madness. I love them.

@@BusHuxley I remember my own travels through Mass., Conn., Maine ... YEARS ago as a much younger guy... those fine, calculated, specific walls.. certainly a throw back to the early european sense of order.... Yer teaching this old guy; that's says a lot about you... Cheers!

What kind of trees are those? Looks like they come out pretty easy. On my timberland most of my trees are hardwood. But hopefully the softwoods will come out as easy. Good job.
@BusHuxley4 ай бұрын
They were mostly birch and poplar. It was kind of a bear of a job and a bigger rig would have been nice, but its way better than by hand! Softwoods will come out a lot easier.

Nice little excavator. I had a 35 and sold it, did lots of work with it that I would’ve never dreamed possible. I have 50g now and man what a “mighty mini” machine it is! Why didn’t you just burn all that brush?

We might end up burning some of it. Thanks for the comment. Yes, astounding how much can get done with hydraulics

Start a fire at very beginning. Each tree you rip out lay it across the center of fire. No need to move tree twice. Start fire in center of circle shape work area. Quick trip with tree to fire. Once you get too far from fire start another circle/fire

hello, I don't know English and I use automatic translation which is not worth anything and I don't understand a lot of things but it is possible, but sometimes like today there are no subtitles in the video so I don't understand anything, so I want to ask if you put them there or it's a youtube matter. Otherwise, I wish you well and greet Oldřich.

"Reclaim"? I think you left your virtue signal on there... It's bleeding over into your brush clearing. And you need a reclaimer (aka a Dozer) instead of a tiny excavator. But given that's what you have, I find that like with a reclaimed backhoe, it's much easier to reclaim stups from the dirt via the leverage of a unreclaimed (still attached) tree trunk.
@BusHuxley4 жыл бұрын
Mat Helm I’m not sure why you are so angry about words mat. Please try and be constructive in the comments.
@BusHuxley4 жыл бұрын
Mat Helm I agree about the dozer completely. He doesn’t own one unfortunately. This is the tool I have to work with and I’m glad it’s not a pick Maddock like the old timers would have used.
