We clean out a clogged up intake manifold Heat Riser.

Don't wear gloves...use a piece of pipe as guide pvc works good! Gloves can be grabbed by cable . It's ok to use gloves to hold guide however....just not cable directly ...

My heat risers are so plugged I can not get a wire into them. Any suggestions on getting things started? Some kind of solvent?

try a bigger cable. since this video ive gone up a size like 3/8" cable last time i did it. you could try heating it up with a torch.
