Putting a brush blade on that weed eater would be a game changer for you! Cleanup looks awesome 👍

Definitely. I need to figure out what was wrong with the one I have or get a new one.

Agreed about the stumps just watched a guy pull a bunch of stumps from his pond and then say he wanted to stock it sounds a bit counterproductive!

That ride-on mower you have, is quite powerful. It seems to work just as good as some flail mowers. And yes the weed whacker with its plastic cutting line is no match for that fibrous bramble, in fact anything that has lots of long stringy fibers are very challenging for most plastic line trimmers
@TriStarHomestead11 ай бұрын
It really is. I bought a blade for the weed whacker but it is not sharp at all. Need to look into it and see what’s up with it because that would be helpful.

One suggestion I would make is to go to cable or chain for your weed wacker due to the dense grow around your property. You guys are going to have a beautiful place. Great job guys. Love your precious baby.

Totally. I have one but it doesn’t work. Need to get something that works.

Most people cut the limbs off of the tree when they cut it down . That makes pulling the trunk a lot easier

You shouldn't cut down the trees from the bond since its fed only by rainfall. Because you have now left it now for the sun to evaporate the water more easily. And also if you have fish in it the fish need shade in the day time from the heat .
@TriStarHomestead11 ай бұрын
Thanks but trees on a pond dam are bad for a pond. The roots wreak havoc on the pond and cause leaks making the pond lose water. Trees around the pond are one thing and we will plant some. There are stumps in the pond and the pond is plenty deep for the fish.

Those cedar trees drink an insane amount of water. Its definitely a good thing to get rid of them.

Those vines are wicked!! You did a great job!at 7:32 those are shrub willows, birds plant them, and they will take over your pond!
@TriStarHomestead9 ай бұрын
That would explain why there is so many of them. They definitely did take over.

Shouldn't a few tress be ledt fir shade over the pond for the fish?
@TriStarHomestead8 ай бұрын
Trees on a pond dam are not a good thing. The roots leave holes and allow the water to drain. Fish don't need shade either, they just need cooler water temps in the summer and they can swim deeper to get that. There are also old stumps and logs in the bottom of the pond for access to hiding spots.

It would be fun but I doubt it at this point. When I decide to do this it’s usually last minute and I don’t do all that much. We plan to get sheep to help clear after the first of the year.
