Here are tips I’ve learned in the market once you get past 25k rule. 1. Stop losses are your friend. You set a stop loss to prevent catastrophic losses. Setting up a stop loss for your stock is an emotionless move. It’s cold and calculating. Watching a stock crash while holding on hoping it reverses is an emotional move. Emotions will get you wrecked in the market. Be cold and calculated. 2. Buying market price is for losers generally. Calculating investors buy limit orders. They buy the stock at a lower price than market and the order doesn’t go through until the stock falls into this price. It works great. Stocks will fall and you buy it cold and calculative diring evrryone else’s panic selling. When timed well you almost always win as the stock almost always reverses after your limit has executed. Don’t down with the ship, buy limit as every stock will inevitably fall, only a matter of minutes hours or days!

You want to make sure that the distributions occur when you reach the appropriate age minimum so that you're not penalized. And then it's just a matter of budgeting as best as you can to ensure that you have enough for the later years. My cousin told me if I was going to buy stocks then I should start out by buying well known large cap companies that have been around for 25 yrs or longer. My Dad told me when our dollar becomes weak, CAT usually ends up selling more of their caterpillar equipment to foreign markets. After I sold everything off that I had in 2022 I can't believe I'm back and started out by buying on my 2nd, 3rd & 4th stock pick, two beaten down stocks & a REIT but unlike from years past I have taken on some risk but I still have stuck to my own beginners rule that I had mentioned above

My dad bought our house for 4500.00 back in 1965. The last 60 years they owned it and my dad passed away in 2007. My mom just sold the house last September 2023 for 135,000. I live in an area where houses are still cheap to buy especially the older ones.
