I don't really have a use for these videos since I live in the US and I've been driving for years, but for some reason, I really like watching! Aman, you're such a good teacher! My driving teacher would yell out the window and reach over to beep at other drivers when he was annoyed. Definitely would have loved to learn with someone like you instead!

In terms of rules and regulations, I think UK is totally different from America. Drivers in the UK drive on the left side while we, Americans drive on the right side of the road. However, it is very similar when it comes to safety and awareness. I think it is just a bit more difficult to adopt to UK traffic roads since they are smaller and more narrow while US, Canada, and Australia roads are more wide and roomy. You would have enough time and space to react in critical situations, while in UK, you would have to be extra careful, even vigilant to avoid potential reckless drivings.

I feel like some driving instructors don't take into consideration that their students are on the younger side and aren't compassionate enough with them! Erin looks like a younger driver who needs the compassion but who's also making good progress thanks to your excellent teaching style Aman. Cyclists and motorbikes are forever zipping through tight places and when a learner may not expect them to. Its a good lesson to learn that they do that whilst in a safe - ie dual controlled - vehicle..

I passed my test first try and only 5 minors with 2 of them due to stalling! Over the moon and proud. Watched your videos a lot and they really helped! Great save on that roundabout! My instructor would've been screaming lool cause of that hahahhahaha. My instructor was great though! Just a difference in calmness between you and him. But in totality, no regrets! Good timing was also key as I had to reschedule my test 2 times. Good guidance from my instructor too. :)

i think the reason she nearly hit the roundabout was because she was looking at the gear stick when shifting. its a bad habit i had for a while and it means you aren’t focusing fully on your surroundings.

A technique with gears is palm away for 1st and 2nd, palm straight on top 3rd and 4th and palm towards you for 5th and 6th. That way you will naturally select the right gear without looking down. It's a bit easier than palm on top for all gears

I think it's interesting how the test has changed over time. I passed in 1996, and we didn't have to drive into parking bays, forward or reverse. I did have to reverse around a corner though, which I assume's been dropped as I've never seen Aman tackle that manoeuvre. PS, and FTR, I have never reversed into a parking bay... looks tricky :)

In my area i always have trouble with left only lanes on a specific roundabout. The last car who went straight over in a left only lane made me scrape the inside of the roundabout so i didnt go into them. Its a nightmare

They're quite uncommon. I live in South East London and there's literally only 1 within a 10 mile radius of my house. IF you want to do roundabouts properly..... try the Magic Roundabout in Swindon. Every driver's nightmare and especially horrendous for a learner!

You're coming on nicely Erin, but try and get out of the habit of going for the clutch straight away when braking, the engine braking is your best friend. That motorbike shouldn't have done that, but they do and you've got to be ready for them, there could have been a dozen pizzas in that pannier and they're the very devil to wash off the car.
