In the majority of Europe, it's normal to live with your parents even in your 30-ies. Some people get way too attached to their parents, especially men, and live with them for 40 years. EDIT: I can speak on behalf of Slavic countries, where this kind of living is pretty normal because buying an apartment while raising a family can be very financially challenging for most people.

I had to move out from my parents at 19 (now I'm 27). I tell everyone the same as you did: living at the cost of your parents is the most underrated thing, nobody appreciates until it hurts on the pocket. For me the mental stress wasn't worth it but in the bright sight I was capable to start from the ground up, and even with rent expenses, I'm able to accumulate wealthy, not as fast as you of course. Sometimes I wondering how incredibly software engineering is: besides making good money, we do work on the most challenging problems. Everyday is a different day.

I love this! I just turned 24 and I’m still living with my parents whilst saving aggressively. It’s such a great opportunity. But I still have to (well, choose to) pay rent because I don’t want to feel like I’m sponging off of them. I give them like $400/$500 a month. It’s still a great savings but I’m wondering if you pay no rent at all? And how do you deal with feeling bad? My daddy always tells me I don’t need to pay anything, he is a sweetheart, but I struggle with feeling bad, so always contribute regardless.
@mrhandexists202 жыл бұрын
ik im one year late but im still putting it out there, you could always pay them back in another way. The amount you save can be used to create more money (once you save you first 100k, building wealth becomes smoother from there.). Then using you wealth you can treat them to various luxuries.

I think so! It might depend on the company, because some big companies might have strict rules (for legal reasons) about how old you can be, whether or not you need to be currently enrolled in college, etc., but I think that many companies would give you that opportunity!

I’m curious if you paid rent to your parents while living with them. If you could live in a house virtually for free, that would definitely be a great wealth-building strategy.

Guys I just started programming and I need your help ( in c ) Say I use a variable for a charachter's name like char name [ ] = "John" Then I print something with it and now I want to change that variable into Robert. ( so it would be like John......... Then robert... ) How can I do that? With numbers I can just do the name of the variable = the new number, same with single letters, but with words it doesn't work. Thanks
