The magic of the original Pokemon was combining so many good game features into complimentary gameplay: Explore/Find -> Fight/Capture -> Train Up/Evolve -> Breed/Care -> Trade -> Level-Up No wonder Pokemon was worth it's weight in gold. Difficult to see these games really selling the core ideas into a compulsive package, though Palworld seems to have taken things by storm but more as an evolution of Open World gameplay mixing stuff up with the above cute, addictive monster-taming/collecting + guns? Nexomon 3 - Looked like the most visually interesting of these, and if it has a solid fanbase probably implements the above features well too which I'd guess is the key to a good game in this genre. It would be an awesome genre to design a game for!

Just gonna correct that Kindred Fates is not an MMO at all. It’s always been a single player focused game although it’ll have co-op and PvP elements

Still waiting for Dokev on my side. :) As for Nexomon 3, I hope they work on the gfx because the screenshots make the game look kind of bad visually. I completed Nexomon 2 and it was great, wish the best for 3.

DokeV is not coming this year. They announced that once crimson desert is released, the devs will merge with the dokev team to work on it. Since crimson desert has been pushed to 2025, this implies that dokeV will not be coming this year and probably not next year either.

Dokimon feels like it could be popular in the pokemon fangame community. Pokemon Essentials has been fantastic for allowing the scene to flourish but it also suffers from some bummer performance issues. If this could replace it, could remove some of that sluggishness. Kind of hard to beat RPG Maker's ease of use tho.

From what I hear for Dokev is they working on other game project to refine their game engine. I guess they wanted to prefect the game play and models and others. It feel like feature creep. So they do not want bugs and crashes. Just like how palworld dev work other game projects to refine their game play. It not easy task like how cyberpunk 2077. It took a lot time to fixed and refine their game. As same with the No man's sky that took years to create content. Those leaders are good management in some degree. But one thing is common is they are gamer in heart of the players. Unlike those AAA milk player with same game play with some like mixed up.

The developers of Lumentale are the same of the best hack rom ever made: Xenoverse per aspera ad astra. so I'm very confident it will be a good game

DoKeV was a game I was hyped about! TechRadar said that Pearl Abyss is delaying DoKeV during a earnings call on December 28 ,2023. My guess is the game costs too much to produce. It's now slated to release in 2024. I know the developers are kicking themselves in the rear end right now with the success of Palworld.

Update: Rock Paper Shotgun has also confirmed this delay saying quote: A Pearl Abyss spokesperson has clarified that DokeV's core team are still with the company, and that the game's release window has yet to be decided.

I like a lot about Nexomon... but I do get turned off by all the fourth wall breaking and refusal to take the stories they're trying to set up seriously. I'm hoping the third game is cool.

The vast majority of these look worse than Pokemon, and I’m pretty frustrated with Pokemon for the most part so that’s saying something. Number 4 and 5 look the most promising besides of number 1 turns out good.
