As great as Capcom's games have been lately, something is wrong with your business model when a game about time traveling dinosaurs isn't a priority. This is on top of all the other great IPs they sleep on.

And what is even weirder is that at the time (80-90's) many companies took advantage of the dinosaurs fever by making merchandise, including games (Jurassic Park boosted that even more). But Capcom didn't release a Dino Crisis Remake when Jurassic World was launched, which would be the logical move

Its pretty simple really, RESIDENT EVIL. DinoCrisis couldnt compete. I like DN1 a lot but it seems too me that the vast majority of people hated it.

you see Neir is actually a sequal where regina sends back Weis back to Dylian to save his daughter using the Third energy project research to start Project Gestalt. so the next game is Neir : Dinosauria where you play a sexy velociraptor in a maid outfit trying to restore the long extinct humans using Fourth Energy. revealing that the timeline is a circle where first are the dinosaurs; dragons -who evelved from dinosaurs- and humans; then humans and magic...

This should have taken a lesson from the first one. What made the original so special was the scary music, deserted atmosphere and knowing there could be a dino lurking around any corner. This has the deserted atmosphere but a dino lurking around every corner. Its guaranteed constant shooting and really detracts from what could make it a more memorable game :(.

Dino Crisis 2 was directed by Shu Takumi, the director/writer of the Ace Attorney games. Shinji Mikami got his most talented proteges to direct sequels to his original games: he put Kamiya on RE2 and Takumi on DC2.

I loved playing this game as a kid. That Compy section was a pain in the arse though but I really did like the chain mines as the defensive weapon :D Such a sad ending as well and I always thought they were going to follow it up in Dino Crisis 3... Oh, how wrong was I haha.

I wish Capcom to reboot the series with Regina as the main character and as something different than Resident Evil. The best part? The sequel to this, story-wise, is the Dino Crisis equivalent to Resident Evil Gun Survivor. Yes, Dino Stalker(or Gun Survivor 3: Dino Crisis in Japan) is a semi on-rails shooter that stars Dylan's daughter Paula & Mike Wired, a WWII fighter pilot that got sent to the future that was in Dino Crisis 2. And it is as gloriously crazy as it sounds. Go look it up if you have a working PS2.

I still have the physical copies of Dino Crisis and Dino Crisis 2 for the PlayStation (often play them from time-to-time on my PS3); and seeing this has made me very happy and hopeful. Hopeful that Capcom will do remakes for the first two games, and fix what happened in Dino Crisis 3 (which I think would've done better as a one-off game under a different title for the series). Like they have Regina all geared up to save Dylan & Paula with a team--maybe have Gail & Rick as part of the team with new characters. And they could have the return of Dr. Kirk to cause things to go wrong when they do go back in time. What are your thoughts on Dino Crisis 3? Sorry for the lengthy comment.

There is also a hard to find PC version of this game that runs pretty damn well on modern PCs. And fun fact... the padding can be skipped. The card you need to go back to the jungle stream to find? yeah, on the PC version at the least, you can get that card the very first time you pass by that area, just go to where its supposed to be and click around the area (dont remember if you need to activate the drifting leaf first or not)
