ESPN has an unhealthy love affair with BAMA and the SEC. Sickening. SEC was 6-5 in their bowl games this year. They could have easily went 3-8. This is the problem with ranking teams prior to these teams playing outside of their conference. There is no way to know which conference is the strongest year to year. There needs to be more out of conference games among the Big 5 power conferences.

You just made my day. Being so vocally negative gave Clemson easy motivation to show the "Eye of the Tiger" to all of college football. If you have watched and analyzed every game both teams played, Clemson's dominance vs Bama is not surprising. All year Bama was talked about as the best ever. Easy mistake to make because giving Saban a great QB for the 1st time made Alabama looked invincible for the first 10 games; however, Clemson was unbeatable for the last 10. Alabama's slip started vs the Citadel who went into half tied vs Bama. Alabama didn't dominate both halfs in any of it's last 5 games. They won 5 halves, lost 4 and tied 1 againt a team the paid $500k to play. In the last 10 games, Clemson never trailed at half. Won all the last 10 games by 20+, went 39-1 over the last 40 quarters. Clemson was continuing to peak all the way into the natty because of leaders like Christian Wilkins. Trevor Lawrence knew the team had his back day 1 after QB Kelly Bryant transferred because the teams true leader, Christian Wilkins, took the true freshman QB to breakfast making that statement loud and clear. It was then the turning point happened when Clemson passed the hardest test of the year against our 2nd toughest rival over the last 2 years, Syracuse. This game gave the team a feeling of destiny when Chase Bryce completes a 4th & 6 where the announcer shouted, "Oh don't throw that!" Then Etienne continues to do his +200yd 3TD game by scoring the winning TD late in the 4th quarter. With confidence destiny brings Clemson introduced college football to the start of a great defensive team's evolution to an all time great overall team over their last 10 games. After 9 of those games, and the ease at which Clemson handled Notre Dame. The only flaw ESPN could attack came from giving up 510yds passing vs S. Carolina, but the next week in the ACC Championship Clemson gave up 8 passing yards easily coasting to their 8th consecutive 20 point win. The pass defense was helped by the rival Gamecocks for lighting a fire into our secondary. Even with Clemson's success over the last 8 games, Bama slipping a bit for 3 didn't make the future clear; however, Clemson finally got a test we aced in all facets. This was the point for me Clemson became the favorite vs Alabama. Not saying I predicted a blow out, but I didn't think it would be a 4 quarter game. I'm no expert. I'm simply a drunken, stoned college football fan that paid attention to the trends as I saw them. I've seen a dozen sport KZbinrs predict this with video evidence. Does ESPN not understand the value of accuracy over idiotic drama. Wow...I'm totally rambling endlessly but hopefully not stupidly. I'll find out later I suppose :P

Alabama's non conference schedule is so soft they never play anybody outside the SEC. SEC is overrated and has been for quite sometime. How many times do we hear every year how good Tennessee recruiting was and they finish down towards the bottom half of the conference? Clemson was just better prepared to play that night.

Paul Finebaum obviously had no understanding of the intangibles that make Trevor Lawrence and the rest of the 2018 Clemson team so great, and how they resulted in the 28 point victory. Lawrence so far has been unshakable, teamates like Christian Wilkins have demonstrated great leadership, and Brent Venables' defensive game plan was brilliant. And Finebaum can't even get the past right either; "Alabama (in 2017 championship game)... couldn't make a first down with Jalen Hurts" I guess he missed Alabama's final drive in that game, where Hurts ran for the go-ahead 30 yard TD with 2 minutes left.

Unless you were a die hard Clemson fan and living in South Carolina, the majority of experts and analysts picked Alabama to win this game. I'll admit too, I had no idea how good and effective Trevor Lawrence would be against Alabama. It happens. I think Stephen A Smith acknowledged he was wrong. I don't know. But I'm certain most of the experts pointed the finger towards Alabama. I won't say things negative about Alabama. Up to the Clemson loss, they were the gold standard. And maybe they still may be depending on what happens next year. Clemson so far is the only program to compete head on against Alabama.

Media bought into the hype, much of it they created. And with all due respect to Finebaum, he is an Alabama/SEC homer nor does he hide it so you pretty much know up front what his opinion is going to be. Of course he is going to favor Bama as that is what pays the bills. No different if we went and asked Don Munson about the Tigers. And just the little bit I've heard from Finebaum and others of late, mostly around the SEC days from Hoover, it sounds almost as if Bama and Bama loyalists are doubling down this year. I respect a fan being loyal too their team, one almost expects it but the danger for Bama last year is they (The Team) drank to much of the Crimson Kool Aid being served by others. They don't need to make that same mistake this year but I'm hearing things that make me wonder if they learned the lessons from their own cautionary tale?
