Damn, this guy made me want to invest in this company. I love a CEO that fights. So many weak people out there. Starbucks case and point.

I would invest in their company just because of him too :D Let's see where the Stock settles and it is a go :-)

Yeah his stock is down 50% since this time while Starbucks is up 50%
@dannthegentleman426112 күн бұрын
@@janitormopmop Yeah, and 5 years after the comment, Starbucks is down 5% while Cleveland Cliffs is up 35%. Is this important after all? The market is just really swingy.

I like this CEO, "mentioning Fact should not be punished" - YES ! CNBC consider inviting more CEOs of Businesses out of the spotlight.

Mentioning facts? Since when "you are an embarrassment to your parents" "we are going to screw this guy so bad that he is not only going to resign he will commit suicide." is mentioning facts. This guy is a bully and vicious. Same bully you have encountered in your high school.

I agree with him 100%. The facts do not matter only the headline. He should have chosen his words better but he should call out mistakes like this on the call.
@jamesmachau73155 жыл бұрын
The only reason we have heard about it is because he did not use "softer" words. Analysts are not God. They should graciously accept that they are wrong. I do not understand why the anchors appear to be saying the CEO is wrong and analysts should be treated with kid gloves and yet the calls they make have real world consequences. But the whole market is a show. I like this guy and his attitude...

That's a buy for me. With a CEO like this, the future is very bright for that company. You have to take unconventional approaches in order to be recognized.

Thumb up for the CEO; Thumb down for the analyst- perhaps a kid fresh out from college; Today’s markets were manipulated by those irresponsible “analysts”. CEOs have the rights / obligations to defend for their companies!

Bad move on the part of Cleveland Cliff. Do you think the minimills will buy their HBI from Cleveland Cliffs who is now a competitor? No. So who are you going to sell your HBI to? The only way this move makes sense is if Cleveland Cliffs builds a melt shop/caster in Toledo and commits to shipping slabs down to Middletown. As far as Ashland goes no one in North America can make money producing pig iron. Why should you think you can operate the blast furnace, bof and caster better than AK Steel. I have no respect for this Brazilian.

This goes WAY beyond sticking up for a company. This CEO acted like a complete jerk. His shocking comments were beyond the pale and inconsistent with the temperament expected of a CEO leading a 3 Billion dollar company.
@Jenkdog143 жыл бұрын
I kind of agree, but i also completely love it. He is getting the job done, even if his words ruffle a couple of feathers. I am invested in CLF, largely because of this conference call, and i know many others who are attracted to thos stock just because of this CEO. He also has an incredible record fighting for the environment, and his company is moving in the right direction. You can cry about his lack of decorum, but LG is one hell of a guy.
