Conwell has good restraint, he always stops himself from punching an opponent who just took a knee. The tragedy certainly didn't happen with any bad intentions from him.

I can't imagine living every day, blaming yourself for the death of someone you had nothing but respect for. He just wanted to win but now the thoughts are probably along the lines of. "This is my fault, I was greedy" I feel he's probably said to himself that he's a bad person, that he thought a human life was worth taking for a simple number on a record sheet even though it isn't true. The brain really manipulates memories when you feel bad about something, it makes you look like the bad guy often times.
