I served Devotions and Benediction there many evenings as a boy, I lived on Edgecliff. Sr. St. John was a good family friend (and she had many!) She's a character right out of Chaucer. I remember all 5 extern sisters. Sr. Annunciata was a favorite. I'll never forget when they had for the first time, communion under both species for the Easter Vigil (2.5 hours long!). They consecrated so much, we left half drunk from consuming so much of the Precious Blood, no lie! Their prayer before the Blessed Sacrament is very popular. I make several copies and distribute them, particularly among The Sovereign Order of Malta here in Chicago.

I remember going there once every week of so after school at OLA, Sister Angelina would bless our eyes and let us pray in the chapel and sell us holy cards. Years later I brought my daughter to meet her. I hope to bring other children and my 2 granddaughters there soon. I remember Sister Amata Rose and Sister Paula. How are they now?

Amanda, I sent this DVD copy to Emmaberry late last year, 2012. She put it online for us. I copied from EWTN in the mid 90s so it's not new - a sister or 2 has passed, they have a different Mother Abbess, etc.

Amanda, This video must be from the late 1960's or early 1970's. My Aunt was Sister/Mother Amata Rose who appears briefly in the video. She passed on several years back and I have very fond memories of her. I remember my father taking me to the Convent occassionally to serve mass as an alter boy in the extern chapel. I was also blessed to venture back into the grounds assisting my Uncle (her only surviving sibling at the time) on the day my Aunt was laid to rest in the Convent Mousoleum.

Some other clues for the time frame of this come from the style of some of the large eye glasses reflective of the eighties style, and there is the computer technology...eighties or early nineties it appears to me....and yes, the fact that it is VHS marks it in time as well.
