This video is older. NCB (National City Bank) is gone. Also, it looks like a Conrail freight train passed by on adjacent trackage. Parallel trackage used to be New York Central and Nickel Plate Railroad in the early days of Cleveland.

Nostalgia, yes! I lived in Cleveland for a relatively short time, from fall 1966 to June 1972. For most of that time, I lived in Cleveland Heights and commuted to University Circle on the 32C or B. But when I wanted to go downtown, usually to Disc Records on Euclid, or the Library, I would almost always take the Rapid. They were the old gray and blue cars, long, long trains of them, but then CTS began phasing in the newer aluminum and red units. It wasn't until about my last year that the final extension out to the airport was opened. Question for any more-recent Clevelanders out there: For about the last half hour, we're traveling on a different line. It doesn't look familiar to me. What is it? It looks much newer than the old CTS route, but I couldn't peg it as the old Shaker Rapid's route either - although it had some similarities.

I remember this to. Ran on right on west side and left on the east side.

I used to take the Rapid long time ago belfry things began to get so bad & fairs went up over the years to much violence robberies not enough security to make me wanna ride RTA
