Love this team! We really need to acquire another pitcher at the deadline, though. Mackenzie’s velocity is down and he’s not looking good. Little confidence. But I think he’s out of options. Maybe they DL him and put him on a rehab assignment. Clearly something is off. This would make room for Gavin Williams when he is ready. So it doesn’t make sense to DFA Triston. In the same way that it didn’t make sense to DFA Quantrill last year. He was clearly hurt but look at him now. 3.50 ERA with the Rockies. We could really use that now, which is also why they’re talking about trading for him. Classic Guardians. But hey, can’t win ‘em all. Chernoff and Antonetti do a hell of a job and deserve so much credit for the success of this team given our small payroll. Maybe the Quantrill call was one of those analytics decisions. And to be fair, they have figured out when to split with pitchers. Just look at when they traded Kluber and Clevinger. Got Clase and Quantrill/Naylor out of those deals. Plus Cantillo, which if he pitches well, given his stuff he could be next in line. So we won’t DFA Triston given what happened with Quantril. We’ll put him on the IL and DFA Cookie (sadly) once we find a replacement at the trade deadline. That leaves our rotation as 1. Bibee 2. Williams 3. Whoever we trade for 4. Lively 5. Logan Allen (I know his ERA isn’t great but there have been a couple starts where he has been rocked over an inning or two, which has had an outsized effect on his ERA). Can’t wait to see what happens over the next few months. I think if we figure out our starting pitching, we could make a run at the World Series. Go Guardians!

gavin williams is coming up for someone.... idk enough about how that works but hes gonna replace mckenzie, carrasco,, or logan allen... mckenzie has definetly looked like the weakest link.. its weird because coming into the season his career ERA was 2.90.... he had that injury and hasnt been the same since... injuries suck

He doesn't even have any confidence. Hanging head low every time he is scheduled to pitch. I don't think sending him down will do much good. We let great players go, so we need to start letting bad players go also.
@carseye12197 ай бұрын
The comment brought a smile to me. Was there anybody anywhere 3 months ago that would dare to think about an "Important playoff series'? The consensus was that this was a bad team from a year ago that did nothing to improve themselves in the off-season and was going to try to piece together a "punchless" lineup with "5 utility guys". At least we're now thinking about "First World" issues.

Shouldn't the helmet count as an extension of the baserunner, whether or not it starts to fall off? It kinda opens a can of worms to allow a loose helmet to fly off and prevent a tag.

There have been no Blue Jays highlights this season, some nice players yes but highlights? This team has sucked from the start of the season and with dumb and dumber running the front office, it ain't gonna get better until they go away. Throw the manager out as well, he looks like a really nice guy and everything but a MLB manager he is not. Man has this front office pulled some boners over the past few seasons.

I was curious......as to why, Guards SP Triston McKenzie did not come out to pitch in the top of the 4th, the long rain delay. Make sense. Cleveland RP Darren McCaughan, sure didn't help the bullpen nor SP McKenzie by giving up 2 runs, causing McKenzie a ND on the day and Reliever Tim Herrin receives the W instead. SMH. 🤔😑 Congratulations to Rookie RF Angel Martinez on collecting his first MLB hit of his career. Go Guards!!! A nice 3 game Sweep by Cleveland. 😃⚾🧹🧹🧹💥
