As an environmental engineering major, I approve. Fun fact, forests are supposed to burn, and it’s out prevention of the fires that allows undergrowth to build up over years, which makes the inevitable forest fires much worse. This is often why controlled burns are used irl

Honestly, I just love this game I remember when I played demo version. You starting with dry, lifeless piece of land, accompanied with a sad piano melody. But ending up with thriving, full of greenery and animals area, accompanied with much more lively song and the noise of a good rainfall. First time I played it, it almost made me cry. It is beautiful.

One thing I always enjoyed about your channel is that you welcome a challange. You tackle difficulty head on. And when it's not difficult to just beat something you optimise or complete it. It gives your videos those moments of "Eureca". Suddenly you find a secret level in a puzzle game, you optimise a solution to a bridge (or any other of those sort games) and you're at the top of the leaderboard. I sometimes will drop a series if I want to check a game myself but there is often something to come back to.
@dojelnotmyrealname4018 Жыл бұрын
Something I really appreciate about this game is how the mechanics really drive home the waste hierarchy. "Reduce, reuse, recycle". You're rewarded for getting things done with as few moves as possible, reusing your buildings as much as possible (in later levels), and recycling burnt land from other buildings.

There is a very strong thematic undertone that is almost omnipresent in any game with production/factory building strategy elements, and that is the idea of conquering nature. The idea of making the land yours to control and bend to your will. While that’s partly because it’s satisfying to start with nothing and slowly grow your reach and capabilities, it’s also because of the culture of the world we currently live in that has a long long history of people doing just that, of people doing what they want with no regard to the damage done to the world around us. That aspect of our culture is what allows us to destroy so many ecosystems and cause extreme and irreversible damage to nature and our planet without thinking too much about it. With that context in mind, this game is a really nice breath of fresh air. It’s a game where you still increase the level of control you have over the environment over time, but this time the goal is to support and live alongside nature, and rebuild the damage that we have made, showing the world we live in the respect that it is due Overall, I think it’s just a really neat game! A+

I watched Real Civil Engineer play a Demo of this all the way back in Summer of 2021 due to branching off your Mini Motorways and Polybridge videos and before looking up my viewing history I could've sworn that I've seen you play this before. This definitely looks like a chill puzzle game especially when it comes to optimizing (similar to going for Top 10 - Top 1 in Polybridge) and I think this is a great match for your channel regardless of whether you decide to do a more casual playthrough or a min-maxed sort of game. Unlike many other creators, I don't recall ever feeling frustrated by your lack of understanding in games or mechanics so even if you run into a wall I still enjoy watching due to your energy and clever editing style. Looking forward to more videos of this game by you!
@ahv007 Жыл бұрын
I also forgot to mention, that I really enjoy the way you show your learning process for mechanics and walk through it in a very podcast style so even if I can't watch the video. I can always chill with your videos playing in the background while I'm making breakfast or coffee which helps a lot with my regular executive function problems by providing me dopamine in an easily digestible form while having clear explanations and allowing me to follow along the next episode even if I only listened to the previous episode.

Games like this have the potential to be extremely difficult, where there is no luck or inevitable victory but instead you must follow an extremely long list of actions just to potentially figure out that you screwed up somewhere at the beginning and have made the rest of the level impossible.

I love this game and it's looking snazzy AF now - I hadn't seen the book before and it's a nice touch - it gives me similar fun casual puzzle vibes to turmoil. I think a series on this has the potential to live up to that height.
