I am trying to recover 1T of data from my hard drive using disk drill. I was just rearranging my files within the drive. When I was done rearranging, I used a different laptop to use that same drive and some of the files got disappeared. I know I never deleted those, just rearranged. After panicking for few hours, I got your videos. Now, Disk drill is scanning half way to the total 30ish hours. Files are preview able, so I am hopeful to recover those. My question to you is when I recover, can I get my folder structure? Getting 1T data in one folder unsorted will be needing hours of work. Let me know how can I recover the folder structure after I recover my files. Thanks much.

Brooo...😭I tried to connect my old SSD using external item, it's showing the drive and showing online too. But it's the drive is opening and showing "the drive is not accessible, incorrect function". When I'm trying to "chkdsk" it in cmd its showing "volume not found". It's not even showing any storage in Disk Management just showing "removeable" and "online" only. Please Help! My External HDD shows the blue screen of death once it's plugged in and then the system restarts. It's over 3 weeks this problem started. I've tried it on other systems and the results are the same. 2 days ago i took it to a computer shop to see if they can help, it showed on their system but not accessible as in it didn't open. I am not sure what has happened but yesterday evening my external 4TB driver had randomly corrupted or stopped working. I thought at first my PC was broken but it turns out it's my external drive. I tried everything you said to do but nothing has worked or helped. This is hard to explain over text so I apologize My laptop runs fine, does everything as normal up until the point I plug my hard drive in, then and only then does it immediately get ridiculously slow and even causes my applications to become unresponsive, including files explorer, steam, and even task manager. Help...! I bought a 6tb WD my book HDD. It has a consistent speed of 190MBps, but when I create a 2TB partition, the speed on that partition drops to 135MBps, and if I again create a partition that speed reduces to 110MBps. So is it better to not create partition at all?

I go to disc management and it tells me I I need to initialize my drive 0 (it is calling it drive 0). Is there a way to do this for free to "fix" the drive and keep all data on that drive. Hi Andrew, I have a WD external drive. It would not run or show up on my computer, I checked cables and determined that the cables are good. So I took apart the external case and removed the hard drive and removed the power supply / USB circuit board from the hard drive. I took the hard drive and installed it into my PC windows 10 computer and connected the SATA and power cables. The hard drive will only show up in "Disk Management", it shows as "Disk" 2 and the first thing it ask in "Disk Management" is: "You must Initialize a Disk before Disk Management can access it" and it shows disk 2 check marked. I down loaded "Disk Drill" but that drive will not show up. I am doing all of this because I am not sure if I have any data on this drive. My question is, If going through all that is mentioned above, does that mean there is no data stored on this disk and I can Initialize the disk" I guess if it states it needs to be "Initialized, does that mean there is NO Data on this drive?

I have an 18T internal hdd that had a windows defender hiccup that wound up damaging the ntfs partition on the drive. I was told that chkdsk can either fix it or not. But I can't use it because my failed hdd doesn't show in file explorer in windows 11. It does appear in disk management, but it shows as unallocated. @@cleverfiles The drive magically read after a hustle cause it wasnt even being seen on diskdrill or computer management and noticed these details "Current Pending Sector Count Value: 4, Status: Bad" but when it read i found the quoted issues so hopefully the drive is failing and not sure if Remap would have fixed it but it sounded gone. i have a lacie drive that has been causing files to get corrupted left and right. So far I have seen 239 flat PSD files and 189 layered PSD files get corrupted. Who knows what else could be messed up. Most of the files when I click on them just say they cannot be opened. A few have that fun colored corrupt design on them. I work as a retoucher so the files are important but everything has already been delivered to my clients so I just formatted the drive after transferring what was still ok. Files seemed to get worse the longer they sat on the drive. All issues happened after it mysteriously disconnected on its own and then like an idiot I pulled out the cable even though it felt like it was running but didn't show up on my computer.... anyways now that I formatted how do I check to make sure the drive is actually fixed? is there a way to tell or do you just hope for the best? So I have a unique problem. I have a drive that had some power stuff happen with it (power flicker, PC restart during file reading), long story short, the rest of my computer is fine but that external SATA drive seems corrupted. I've tried every cable I have, and it is seen in my File Explorer, but without any storage info displayed, and interacting with it *at all* seems to make File Explorer stop responding, in addition to sometimes making explorer.exe crash. It makes Disk Drill scan indefinitely, and CHKDSK just displays a blank field without doing anything. It's even making Victoria (the software) not run properly. The ONLY response I get is when the drive is unplugged (can't even do that cleanly via eject media, interacting with the drive AT ALL seems to not work). Is there a way out of this?

Hi... I had tried all ur 3 methods and it did not work at all. It was even worse when I tried using the Victoria 911. It took 2 days to scan my external hard disk and when it is finally finished scanning, it was not able to recover my corrupted hard disk. Some third party software which has access to the drive may block it. Try disabling it or using the system restore feature from the control panel to restore the system to a point before the recent software package installation

If I remember correctly you can recover the data even after full format but it"s expensive and you can"t do it at home (it"s something like there"s not 0, but 0.1, you need a lot of passes to get completely rid of the data)

Usually, after a full or low-level format, there is no way to recover the data, as this type of formatting completely wipes the data. But in any case, it's worth a try to scan with Disk Drill and check if something is still accessible

I made a mistake on removing Seagate internal HDD from Asus Aopen and installed it on HP Compaq pro 4300 sff PC and corrupted Seagate hard drive size reduce from 500GB to 3.9GB unallocated. I removed the Seagate internal HDD from HP Compaq pro 4300 sff PC and reinstalled it back to Asus Aopen PC and did not detect hard drive boot during restarting the PC. I have restarted several times and boot device is not detecting even though all hardware connection are good. I tried techniques and nothing worked. Please help. I need to recover data from that hard drive.

I’m experiencing issues with my 2TB external hard drive. When I plug it into my computer, everything seems fine at first, but after a short while, my applications freeze with a continuous blue loading cursor, and the screen eventually turns gray.
