Then you start to panic. It feels like there's no more air left in the world and you're desperately trying to get it all back.

Simfan923 also, they can be actually dangerous, it’s not just “in your head” like people like to say, when I was 12 years old I had a panic attack but I didn’t know I had generalized anxiety disorder yet, and My mom thought I was having an asthma attack because I have asthma, I went to the ER and my heart rate was 165 bpm and was taken by ambulance to a hospital and in the ambulance I had to have oxygen because I wasn’t breathing, because I was hyperventilating for HOURS my chest muscles were sore and so I had chest pain, I was in the cardiac care unit overnight while they ran tests to make sure my heart was ok (my mom used to have wolf Parkinson’s white syndrome so that’s why they were concerned) It was to this day the most traumatic event of my life, I had the attack because of extreme hypochondria and I convinced myself I was having a heart attack and then the anxiety gave me EVERY symptom of a heart attack. It is the worst thing ever

I had my first and 'worst' one at 12 because I was feverish also, I woke up and immediately started to have one. It felt like my house was caving in and smothering me, and I ran around the house panicking, trying to get away from basically nothing, wide-eyed, confused, hyperventilating and thinking I was dying for about 20 mins.... I must've looked like a possessed child 😅. Now when I have one I know its gonna pass but it still sucks. I remember it so clearly because it was my first one (scared **itless) and I was a kid. If you ever have one, just know it'll pass within 20-30 mins, and your heart isn't going to stop, or go into cardiac arrest lol. I say this bcuz almost everyone experiences it at least once.

While I can't speak for Selena, I've had attacks where my heart's pounding in my chest and it feels like I can't breathe and my hands start shaking when I get in areas with large crowds and sometimes I feel like I was dying. I've been diagnosed with depression and anxiety and it's hard to know if it's the anxiety about being in public or if I'm having a full blown panic attack when they happen so suddenly and sometimes out of nowhere. I have to give her a massive shout out for even going on stage, when I get in that position sometimes I want to go home, crawl into bed and never leave my room again. I know celine dion often got sick before coming on stage theres so much anticipation and build up its hard to stay calm and artists are usually very sensitive people and lot of them are introverted and not used to dealing with so much attention all at once. Its a lot of emotional ups and down and also the withdrawal after performing going from thousands of people in front of you then being alone in a room for hours gives a lot of mixed sigbals to the body and the brain. Its why lot of artist get depressed coming home from touring.

I personally suffered from anxiety and depression, and when I have a panic attack I just suddenly stopped doing whatever i was doing and break down.
