@SuperSethstone7 жыл бұрын
In fairness. I get your joke. But their is nothing inherently wrong with "pimping". Everyone has a mental image of a pimp, as someone who forces women to have sex with men, and then takes the money. But all pimping is, is being a bodyguard and or finding work for a woman who is selling her body of her own free will. So yeah. You could definitely be doing something nice by being a pimp for somebody.

I'm not even close to what you'd call a Tomi Lahren fan or supporter, but even if she did change her mind - flip flop - when did it become a crime to have a new opinion? As I've gotten older, the number of topics I've "flip-flopped" on are countless. As I learn more and hopefully become wiser my take on things changes as I'm sure it does for most of you. I think it's fair to ask someone in her position to explain why they might feel differently about something so ingrained in their group's way of thinking, but why all the hate? A world where we can't change our mind about things is a dangerous, toxic place.
@scitechian7 жыл бұрын
To my mind, flip-flopping is, without actually changing your real opinion, EXPRESSING wildly different views on a topic depending on who the audience is, with the intent to mislead people for your own benefit rather than to further the spread of knowledge.
@rosedalinevaletine69317 жыл бұрын
Gaming onFiction I do not think the flip-flopping is the issue. The issue is the fact she doesn't address that she is growing older, learning more and discusses how she USED to think and why and HOW she is growing and formulating her new ideas. She is just...a hypocrite in the sense she acts as if she never said a certain things she is exhibiting and agreeing with at the moment.
@brandon91727 жыл бұрын
rosedaline valetine She isn't really a hypocrite though. I think most everybody is simply misunderstanding her. She doesn't support abortion morally. However she doesn't support the government intervening in people's lives, and the choices they can make. And for her, the second one trumps the first. Okay so myself as an example. I don't particularly support recreational marijuana, I think it's abuse in a way. You're using something you don't need. However I don't agree on the government having a say on that. Why? Because at the end of the day it'll have no effect on me. So why should I really care at that point?
@Superenixman7 жыл бұрын
Gaming onFiction I I think the hate comes more from the fact that when a person pushes their political views and ideas in such a harsh way and then they start the waiver their fans who obviously had those same ideals and characteristics would feel betrayed and pissed off

@conniefogle55947 жыл бұрын
Seth Stone is that a serious statement? If you're making the conscious decision to watch an "offensive video", there's absolutely no reason that you should be offended by an ad on said video. Especially considering that targeted ads are usually based more on what the consumer is likely to respond to and less what content it's being advertised on. If you're not too offended to see the actual content, you shouldn't be offended to see an ad for Chunky noodle soup before/next to it.

Arick Hauschild Well knowing the source of the problem is an important step fix it. If your computer is damaged you need to know which part and what caused it (is it a virus,is it something I download,maybe I overclocked my gpu etc. etc.)
@ArickHauschild7 жыл бұрын
Some of you seem to think I'm offended by something but I'm not. of course there are times when you need to find the source of the problem. the difference here is people keep looking for someone to blame, but we're all at fault. As a conservative, I have opinions that differ from others, but I have to recognize that they are entitled to their opinions. I see that many conservatives, and that sometimes includes myself, are very closed-minded and even hostile towards others. However, I see the same problem among liberals. I don't think everyone is bad, I just think we need to look at our society objectively, not allowing our political stances to cloud judgment. It is much easier to blame someone else, but that doesn't fix things, it only makes them worse. Benjamin Franklin didn't blame childhood poverty for his lack of education; instead, he taught himself by reading as much as possible. A more modern example, Bethany Hamilton, could have quit surfing and blamed her unhappiness on losing her arm, but she decided to learn to surf without an arm and won championships. There are many other stories where people, instead of focusing on the reason for their problems, chose to fix them. When we focus on the who rather than the how, nothing will change and we stay miserable for the rest of our lives.
@ArickHauschild7 жыл бұрын
My proposed solution is simple. Love. Showing love to people in little ways, a smile, holding the door for someone, asking how their day has been, etc. Don't go around telling people they are wrong or they need to change, just be kind. Kindness and joy spread infectiously when we decide to love others and keep positive attitudes in spite of our circumstances or opinions of those people. Hostility only shuts down logical thought and tolerant attitudes.

I'm a gay man who for years had the opinion it was wrong (Guess thats why I couldn't accept it until I was 18) I definitively dont think everybody who says outlandish things like it being a choice are closeted (Btw if it was a choice SOOOOO many of us wouldn't be, I hated it and myself for months) But saying its 'discipline' like what? I'm just not attracted too women.. do i need too discipline myself into finding them attractive? What lol I really dont understand the argument.
@SilverYPheonix7 жыл бұрын
I agree. When people like Philip say that some are born gay however, it completely closes the window for any further questioning about the person's sexuality, labelling that as a closed book and leaving nothing more to argue about it. The argument of being gay by choice rests more at the fact the person's preference is of a specific type, and your personal taste in regards to the gender you feel attracted to. Much like certain people are vegans or certain people are carnivores, they are this specific category of people not because of being born that way but because that's what they chose for themselves.

I mean if you were going there for only for the news, then yeah sure I can see why you would think its clickbait. But for me it's the tabletalks, the comment commentaries, the podcasts, and the personalities that are the best parts. SourceFed is and always has been a conversation between friends. SourceFed hosts and the people behind the scenes are way more inviting and warm than anything you can find that buzzfeed puts out. Its all about corporate algorithmic money making videos at buzzfeed (that one girl who just quit even said they weren't allowed to reply to comments or interact with the audience). I mean that's probably where sourcefed's demise came from, their lack of structure, but I honestly would not have it any other way. and I think calling them "Phil's buzzfeed" is completely ignorant to what sourcefed was about at it's core.

I think a better analogy for the nude photos would be if you are staying at a hotel abroad and you don't keep your passport in your safe but you leave it in a drawer. It's way harder to steal photos from a local storage device than from a cloud storage service.
@shogun55997 жыл бұрын
Actually that's the other way around it's much easier to steal them in transit though. Cloud services have to tier protection they're targets because once you're in you get thousands of peoples sensitive data not just a single persons stealing from a local storage device is waay easier it's like finding an open safe in someones house. Obviously it's easier to find the bank than the one persons house with the safe. But the house is much easier to rob. And it's easy to steal in transit since half the time it's being sent via billboard van. this has been computer hacking explained easily with shogun

Just clicked to hear about SourceFed. Would love to have a separate video on this because it's such a major topic right now in the KZbin space, especially how companies can fire and shut down a channel so easily. Creators who aren't independent are scared, so many people lost their jobs this week. Also, that KZbin is ultimately a business and struggles to be completely a creative space. Eg. SourceFed, SourceFedNerd, People Be Like & Nuclear Family were getting views but somehow weren't enough and because their content was unfiltered sponsorships were hard to get. Would love to hear more of your opinions on this when you can talk about it.

Something about what Phil said about more people viewing themselves on a spectrum, I really, really wish we didn't have a two-party system. I think it makes us have to pick one of two extremes. I wish we had a system like the Dutch, where they have a far-right, a center-right, a centrist, center-left, left, and far left parties. It creates the need for cooperation and compromise. Otherwise, we end up voting for someone just because we their only opponent.

Hey Phil, re: the advertisers story - if companies pull their ads off of Google that just means more room for other companies/people to advertise - I'd say that just because they don't want THEIR brand associated with something doesn't mean others will pull advertising - I see it as a give/take sort of thing. Of course, if it's the big brands then its big money leaving to. But as long as there's a place to put ads (ie; KZbin/Google Search) then someone will pay for that slots to get in front of users - and if no one else is then the more likely they'll want it (because less competition which means more chance of being seen etc). But that's just my theory. Love the show, thanks for all your hard work from both me and my partner

I think to anyone who thinks being gay is a choice should "choose" to be gay for a week and show us all how wrong we are.
@philsmith57667 жыл бұрын
Does personal preference = no chance of going against it? I cant stand tomatoes, but I have the choice to eat them if I want to. Its not mandated that I wont or cant eat them. If you are a man and want to be with a man, go for it. If you are a man and want to be with a woman, go for it (same for women). But you can be with either even though your preference isnt to be with both (obviously unless you are bi). To me, a personal preference is not a mandate, its just a preference. What about a gay man deciding to try it once with a woman? Is that not a choice? Same for a lesbian woman deciding to try it once with a man, is that not a choice? Because I guarantee you both of those scenarios have happened. Which seems to fulfill the requirements of your statement above. Especially since there have been people that were gay early in life and later in life decided to be with the opposite sex. The opposite is also true about straight early to gay late. Was it all just repressed feelings? Or was it a change in your choice of who to be with? And I am not talking about people who went (whether forced or otherwise) to these programs that are supposed to "make you normal", which, to me, seems more of brainwashing than anything. There have been gay people who found a religion and became straight. Since most people will say there is no god, they cant believe that a higher power caused it. Was that a choice to change? Or are they really not straight at all and just lying to themselves?

Slurburbler I have a feeling Dean is going to comeback and say that there are men with pussies. Ya know, the whole transgender without transitioning thing. Case and point... Riley Dennis here on you tube. Has a penis, says is a woman, sleeps with women, says is a lesbian. A lesbian with a penis. Hate to tell you slurburbler, but you might be bi if you have slept with a fair amount of women. Fair chance that one of them claims to be a guy. Does a man sleeping with a woman that claims to be a man make the man gay for sticking his penis in a vagina? It is (insert current year) after all.

It's more complicated than that. Some gays actually do choose their lifestyle but I think now they're in the minority. But I don't think people were born gay either because there's no evidence of a gay gene. Instead, I think certain influences in early development could affect their sexuality later on. So in short, being gay is generally not a choice but a 1 year old cannot be gay (or heterosexual too for that matter).

As a girl in national level volleyball, the separation of genders in my sport makes perfect sense for me. There is a reason that men's nets are taller and we are separated. It is simply because most of these men are MUCH taller than us. If you even look at the different ways the two leagues play the men's division is much more power driven while the women's division is a lot more strategy. I'm not really sure how I feel about trans players because I am cis so I can't have an opinion for these people. I think that there should be trans people making this decision along with cis people though because otherwise, no one will be happy. I don't care if you are a part of the trans community personally because a teammate is a teammate to me but I understand the concern

I think the issue about trans people should discused by proffesionals like doctors who unferstand the topic (the efectct of testosterone and things like tjat). The opinions of the rest of people dont matter if the dont what they are talking about.
@SuperSethstone7 жыл бұрын
What? Im sorry. But that doesnt make any sense. People can still have an opinion on something, regardless of whether they completely understand the science of the topic. And it could still be valid.
@cliffsidekiller7 жыл бұрын
The issue is more of in professional sports and the like. Testosterone is known to enhance physical performance, and males tend to produce more testosterone. If it can be scientifically concluded that even with hormone therapy the body still produces testosterone or past production of it has a significant effect on performance, I don't think it matters if people "don't want to segregate them", it doesn't make sense competitively. I have nothing against transgenders who want to compete, but only on fair grounds. Also, the "weight class" thing which was mentioned, from past events it still doesn't help much between genders. More research should be done on it, but from what is currently known it is not likely to help this scenario.

The person who made the comment about men and women being separated in sports being insulting needs to rethink it. That may work in minor league for kids, but you'd see a lot less women at the professional level if they made the pro sports open to both genders. They don't split genders in pro sports because of sexism, they do it because men have very clear advantages physiologically. Honestly, how many WNBA players would make the cut into the NBA? What about the UFC? Want to see how that would go down? Stop it with this irrational thought. Men and women are or should be (depending on where you live) equal on a social level, but we are not and never will be equal in a physiological way.
@thatboringone78517 жыл бұрын
rochat They were suggesting dividing teams by the things that make up the (general) physical differences, not just lumping everyone together with no distinction. If you take two similarly advantaged athletes of different sexes, their sex won't play a large role in the outcome if competing against each other.
@ActionLandFilms7 жыл бұрын
The science on gender doesn't agree with this argument. I think you need to really think about it
@sergeantassassin34257 жыл бұрын
The science on gender is clear as can be: men are physically superior to women in nearly every category. This doesn't mean that women are "lesser" or that women are "inferior". It's just a fact of life. Nothing to hate on, nothing to be ashamed of. It's just the way it is.
@fmlAllthetime7 жыл бұрын
Too true, the bone structure and muscle v. fat ratios are completely different, along with center of balance and spatial ability. Considering top athletes are at the upper ends of the bell curve, we would expect to see even more drastic differences. I'm not being sexist at all with this statement: If women were to compete with men in such sports where size and body structure took the lead such as American football, competitive fighting or powerlifting, they would rarely, if ever, win a match. This is supported by every statistic we have in sports. This observation isn't sexist, it's reality.
@NightStar7877 жыл бұрын
Well the problem with that is not everyone is the same. Generally men are stronger than women *_but_* biology isn't 100% correct all of the time. Genetics are quite fickle so there *_are_* men and women who defy the generalization. There can be a guy who's rather small and not have much muscle at all and a girl who's tall and has quite a bit of muscle on her. It all depends on genetics.

Hi Phil Our tweet head president Abdulfattah Alsisi hired last January 2 more PR companies in the US to promote his regime. He already hired one before. This is how much he cares about what you people think of him even more than what us “Egyptians” do. We have a serious case of a dying young man in Alsisi’s prison. A 22 years old Biotechnology student who went for a scholarship in Turkey. Since Alsisi hates Turkey then we are not allowed to travel there without security permission and all that shit. They arrested the kid at the airport for anti Sisi photos and mimes they found on his phone and sentenced him to 10 years in jail for being a member of a terroristic group. All is normal till here, we have 30000 prisoners with the exact same story. The worst part is he was sent to a prison called “Wadhi Alnatron” in the middle of the desert where he got stung by a sand fly and got infected with visceral leishmania which destroyed his liver, spleen and bone marrow and lost more than half of his body weight. he is now 38Kg First the police denied his condition and left him for sometime, then diagnosed him with pneumonia then Lymphoma until the final diagnosis after 6 months of his family begging the police to get him properly checked. Now he is in the hospital, his hand and leg tied to the bed, his family is not allowed see him. What the family requests is that the government apply the law which states in such health condition the boy has to be released to receive palliative care and die in his house. What human rights and healthcare workers request is to screen the whole prison to make sure no one else is infected and take all the safety measured required to face this dangerous situation. But for sure .. there is no response from the government. We need your help to save this kid’s life or at least help him to die next to his broken heart mother. We need to get the US media attention to the story if possible. Thank you Phil

4:50 Culpability for a crime and causal responsibility are separate guilt issues. There's no single "guilt pie" that causal responsibility can take a piece out of, and leave less guilt for the criminal. So, even though you can contribute to the circumstances that lead to being a victim of crime, the criminal is still 100% culpable for the crime. However, sometimes causal responsibility is so blatant, that we believe the victim should have been able to see their victimhood as the almost inevitable outcome of their actions. How much the person is hurt by the possible consequences for their actions, and if, and how well we know them, generally dictates how much responsibility we assign them. Obviously, piling on more pain onto someone that's already paying a heavy price, makes you a dick.
