hey phil, can you talk about what has been happening in Venezuela this week ? riots have been happening because of the situation here, and media(tv,radio) is not allowed to talk about it, social media is the only way we have to see what's really happening, and even so, it's not all "real news" (you know about fake news). Police brutality has reached inhuman levels. It would mean a lot for venezuelans if people outside could know what is happening. Thanks!

I agree, what is happening in Venezuela is unconscionable. It almost seems like it's been going on for so long that it's not "news", on the other hand it's beyond horrible and people who don't know about it should exposed to what is happening. I would hope that Phil and team would take the recommendation and bring the story to light on his channel. Espero que más Americanos se den cuenta de lo que está pasando. En fin, Venezuela have parte de las Americas y no está tan lejos.

so as a black woman am i 100% offended by French Montanas comments, no. But I understand why people would be he could of easily used other adjectives to describe the women who tweeted but he chose in my opinion "nappy" to sting and hurt. Having natural hair in the black community is not always easy. growing up I was told all the time that my hair was nappy, it was rough, it was tough, it was like Brillo, that it look like peas all types of just crazy, ridiculous ignorant stuff, but sadly enough these words came from my own mother and she still talks this way about my nieces hair and i correct her in front of them. when she did it, it made me very self-conscious and made me do everything possible to make a straighten my hair, chemicals, perms, processing Flatiron, straightening comb and blowing out, everything, so yes hearing nappy hurts and it took a long time for me to be proud of my hair. my hair is now loc'd and I love my hair I couldn't imagine my hair ever being straight again or me ever processing my hair again. but there's so many women that have that self hatred because there's too many people within our own culture that use the word nappy with negative connotations and we need to embrace our hair. our hair textures they vary they're not all going to be wavy, theyre not all going to be straight some of them will be kinky and some of them will be nappy and it's okay.

Black hair is not NAPPY if you are taking care of it. Afros are NOT Nappy, braids are NOT nappy! Nappy is when your hair is dirty, frizzy, matted almost, which is likely to happen faster with black hair because of its texture, but it can happen to anyones hair if you don't take care of it. And I think he said that to make a point, like your unclean and you can't take care of yourself...but honestly how the hell does he know her hygiene situation from her profile pic?

As a black woman with natural hair, I have often called my own hair nappy. Me and my friends (who are also black women) use that term. To me, when my hair is nappy, it is tangled and is not easy to comb it. However, when I think it has become a generalized term used by people as an insult. People could say that my hair is nappy (meaning I don't take care of it) when it actually isn't because that is actually the style my hair is suppose to be in. They call it nappy because they are uneducated and think that all hair is suppose to be straight. With all that said, yes I do find it offensive because Montana meant it to be offense just like the first part of his tweet. Yes nappy is a part of our hair, but it all about context and he meant it as an insult. To my knowledge, black people are the only ones with our type of hair and the only that gets classified as "nappy". He didn't use terms like tangled or messed up, so one assumes that it was racially charged.

I love your show and have never heard you say something that I disagree with. That being said, I would like to voice a concern of mine. Lately I have noticed that your videos lean more to issues involving celebrities and the issues of the United States. You did cover a silly thing in Russia, but what about the bomb in the train in Russia, chemical weapons used on children in Syria, Russia's defending the Syrian government, and much more? I consider you a new source, and go to you for some important stuff. I would love to see your subject broadened into global issues that actually have an impact on the world. I say this because you have a major voice in the world. When you speak, people listen, and there is much more to speak about than a twitter issue. I love seeing the fluff pieces too, due to your comedic responses, but I would also appreciate it if it was alongside some more important pieces. Again, this is just something to my mind. You mentioned that this is a conversation, and this is a conversation I would like to start with you as well as the audience. I'm interested to see if I'm the only one that is actually interested in this.

He's already told us why he can't make videos about that right now. He had repeatedly stated that he has a lot less time to properly research videos until he settles into his new office. Att: Phillip DeFranco Can you cover what is currently happening in South Africa right now. This includes the recent cabinet reshuffle by the current President of South Africa, Jacob Zuma which axed the finance minister, Pravin Gordhan. This was followed by the significant drop of the Rand against the Dollar and the country's credit ratings reduced to “Junk” Status by the S & P Global ratings. Furthermore, the result of this led to the citizens of South Africa coming together to protest towards the removal of Jacob Zuma from his position. Lastly, he is the president that unlawfully and failed to uphold, defend and respect the Constitution. He is the kind of man that said that aids can be washed away by having a shower, and had around 783 counts of corruption against him.

It's important to note that (AFAIK) the President of RSA is appointed by the government party leaders and organisers (including those outside parliment) and MPs owe their seats to the party directly as elections are single-electorate closed-party-list divisor. The President is not elected by the public (like the U.S. system is a state-weighted approximation of), or by party MPs who can still be voted out by their own electorate despite the party's national vote (like a Prime Minister after an Australian spill or British heave), or by the public who have registered with the party (like UK Labour has been trying), or a combination of the last two (what Federal Australian Labor did for their most recent leader). So the administration of the governing party would need to be convinced and capable, not simply a majority of the party's Members or registereds.

I don't know what to think about the 10k minimum. Even though I have over 10k lifetime views so far, I feel like getting to that 10k is such a hurdle on itself, depending on the genre that the KZbinr is trying to get into. Depending on the genre, someone's first video probably won't hit 1000 views within the first month, or even a year. It's like the struggle to get to 100, then 1000 subs for starting KZbinrs. It's important to weed out the abusers, yes, but I feel that not all the videos that have less than 1000 views are horrible. They just haven't been seen by people because of a number of reasons. EDIT: I am not annoyed about the monetization thing. I should have worded my original post better, by saying that I don't know what to think about the 10k being 'enough information' for a channel to be valid or not. There was a channel I named in this thread that fits the description of what KZbin is trying to remove I think (people that upload other people's things and such), and I get that, but it just seems arbitrary to say that 10k views is enough to determine the validity of a channel. Then again, I don't know what's going on behind the scenes and it might not just be 10k. Taking a step back and looking at it again, overall I think this is an okay idea. I don't know how much it will hurt new creators, versus stopping the videos KZbin is trying to stop. I also don't know if doing this will make advertisers come back. I just wish it was worded a little bit better or explained some of the aspects of it some more. The monetization limit was never an issue with me, but the wording of some parts irked me for some reason. EDIT x2: I guess I grouped content creators as a whole, instead of just only monetized creators. It feels a little bit better now, but I still would want to know more details about it, and maybe more information will come in a few weeks.

Andy Plays All Night its a good idea people just have to stick to it and work harder to get more results just like anything in life plus itll feel alot better knowing you worked harder for it and your hard work paid off
@AndyPlaysAllNight7 жыл бұрын
Working hard for better results is fine and all, but like I mentioned, some new people's videos won't reach high numbers for who knows how long, depending on the genre. Someone could create something that was well made, well spoken, and all around a good video, but without an audience to see it, or not showing up within the search results within the first few pages, how will the person get views? I'm all for working hard and making good content, but my point was that it's tough to get those views/subs when you start out unless you do some sort of promoting, but some people might see that as just spam.

I'm a biracial woman with kinky hair, many black women themselves disagree about the word nappy. Some use it as an insult, some try to reclaim it and make it a positive thing, some see it as a negative word that shames black women for their natural hair. I personally don't appreciate the word, I prefer to use less negative/ politically charged words. When someone calls my hair nappy it really depends on the context, but usually I get slightly annoyed.

I'm a black woman and French Montana is from NYC and so am I and that's how we roast people, I genuinely believe him when he says he was just clapping back at her. But when I read it and he said the word " nappy" I already knew it was a wrap. These celebs need to learn that they can't do things they could do before they became famous. Had he been a normal guy and did that I promise you his black friends would have laughed, but he has a platform now and he can't talk to a black women like that with a platform we just won't tolerate it, and Nappy is now a derogatory term in 2017 most definitely, I'm black and I don't feel comfortable using it and when ppl use it around me who are black I'm like uughhhh....

I dont usually do comments, but this was kinda strange to me. Reporting the banned by some random official picture and not speaking at all about the terorist attacks in Russia St. Petersburg. I actually did some digging and found some info, that you like talking about, people uniting and helping each other, people being actual people (there were this massive google docs and interactive maps where drivers were leaving their paths and the number of seats in the car to help out those who cant get home via undeground blocked by this attacks). That just seemed to look like msm, reporting only one-sided stories about some controversial topics like Russia. And I do believe thats the opposite reason why me, and all others, like you and your content. I really hope that I am wrong and you didnt cover this terrorist attack (while covering smaller ones, but not in Russia) because of some different reason. I hope I didnt sound so negative, I really do like your content ❤
@padal37 жыл бұрын
By the way, there were some other interesting stories too, for example a false image of a terrorist circulating on TV made this guy unable to attend his flight and made his employees fired him. And all this because of false information by some people on the internet and his alleged "muslim" look, sad
@nohitech72337 жыл бұрын
padal3 He actually did not speak on it yet because he is probably waiting on more information on the story. If you have been watching for a while you would know he doesn't report on certain stories immediately for the reason he doesn't want to get anything wrong.

Can you go more in-depth on the KZbin 10,000 views limit? As a creator I would like to hear more about the applying process to by pass this limit; I am already a KZbin Partner so am I good?. I have a very small channel we grow a little here and there but I would hate to have the finish line (Hypothetical not actual) moved. It isn't the end goal to make money but reaching $100 dollars so I can get my first check and put back into my craft is a goal and a motivator. So I just want to know where should my hustle be targeted now! Of course at the end of the day its about the process, the fun, and I love what I do! Just trying to learn the new way of cracking eggs. Thanks!

Michael + Nicole you have 537 views altogether so you won't be getting paid. you need to have 10,000 views in total to get paid
@JackDecker637 жыл бұрын
Michael + Nicole, I feel your pain. My channel is also small. While I have so far received ten times as many views as your channel, I still fall under the 10,000 views bar. As of this posting, I'm at 5,489. Yeah, it sucks but 10,000 is very reachable. I'm more than half way there. Growth is a little slower these days as I recently put my channel on hold due to a possible corporate sponsor and when that fell through, I've kept on hold and will keep it on hold while I start up a new business ... which should give me more resources to do my channel with. That and I am re-evaluating the channel and its premise. Still keeping it as a libertarian react-to-news vlog but possibly from a different perspective to make it more stand out. I guess what I'm saying is continue to hustle. This is just another hurtle you got to jump. So knuckle down and rank out more videos. That will MAJORLY help you. I know it has for me. I have over 100 videos on my channel whereas you guys only have 13. Also, consider joining the online forum YTtalk.com. Lot of good threads there. Oh, and subscribe to Tim Schmoyer's "Video Creators" channel. Really good channel for starting-out creators. Mine his archive. Good luck!

I feel disappointed in Philip cause a few days ago in Russia there was a horrible terror attack and he didn't cover that, he didn't mention solidarity or that his heart goes out and bla bla. Like 11 people dead and that is not big enough story for him to cover? but the story about this picture where Philip gets to kinda bash the whole country is apparently a good story. I never supported Putin as a Russian citizen and yes I think banning this picture is stupid but what I came to see recently is that western media may be uncensored by governments but they are as hell biased against the whole Russia. Western media only covers very specific strories from Russia to support their preexisting narrative. No solidarity, no empathy for Russian people and it makes me sad.

I'm a black woman and I can confirm "nappy" isn't a racial slur. He was clearly just using it to roast her, not to be racist. "Nappy hair" simply means messy hair and doesn't necessarily only fall into the black hair category. All in all, everyone needs to calm the fuck down

As a black woman, I can say that I was not offended by his words. He was addressing a person who made a comment he didn't like. It wasn't as if he said "ALL BLACK WOMEN HAVE NAPPY HAIR."
