Clif Magness - Jenny's Still in Love (AOR GUITAR COVER)

This is from a great singer songwriter called Clif Magness who has also released music in the band Planet 3, which featured legendary producer and guitarist Jay Graydon and also the legendary songwriter Glen Ballard (Man In The Mirror). If I was to describe what I like about AOR style music, I would pick a song like this. Just great melodies, killer instrumentation and luscious production. This is maybe my favourite from Clif's solo album entilted...em....'Solo.' :)

Man 2019 was such a great year for me music wise. Mainly because that was when I started to heavily get into a lot of the AOR stuff. And this song is the epitome of true AOR Perfection. I love everything about this song. The guitar and keyboard intro to the sing along anthemic pre chorus and chorus to the amazing guitar solo. Truly amazing stuff. Every summer since I would walk around the lakes day after day blasting songs like this through my earbuds. It definitely has the summer vibe so it’s hard for me not to. Anyways great guitar work as always.

It's mostly cool bass runs right at the end on this one. Those guitar harmonies are not on the actual verison. :)

Great playing as always...here are a few songs you might like to give a try sometime. Giant - I'll Be There (when it's over) Signal - Arms of a Stranger Dare - Abandon You might also like the AOR band Frontline. Their "Heroes" and "State of Rock" albums are great.

I've always enjoyed Clif Magness' work. Especially Planet 3 and pretty much anything with Jay Grayson on vocals or guitar. How'd you discover these guys? You're relatively young like myself and am always interested in hearing how different listeners have come across artists like these.

It was my brother who was able to discover all these great AOR artists through getting into bands like Chicago and Toto etc. He started linking the names you'd see on the album notes like the producers, songwriters and session players and followed them to other artists etc. Jay Gradon's Airplay For The Planet is possibly the best sonically produced album for me. :)

bwm5150 I agree. You're very accomplished in what you do. I've been playing keyboards for 5+ yrs and was immediately hooked to Graydon after I listened to "Walk the Wire". I'm not sure if you're familiar with a demo album that was unofficially released, "Darin Scheff Demos". It includes some very good tracks sung by Tim Feehan, Warren Weibe (R.I.P.) and Jason Scheff. Very good tracks with terrific guitar and keyboards that sound very good for demos. But they sadly never got past the demos phase. You should check it out. I think you'll like what you hear. Thanks! I'm using a Boss Me50 into a Palmer Pdi-09. I used to have a Rockman unit and currently have a Rock Box that I made a video on. I grew up listening to Rockman tones so I think that's what I like to try and emulate.

Yes, I get it, you're doing this for personal satisfaction. Your covers of Def Leppard are the best I've seen on youtube and I watch as many guitar cover and lesson videos as possible on here. As a guitar player I would imagine that most of your viewers are also guitar players, so, my point being that you would greatly expand the number of views on your channel if you were to broaden your musical scope. I suggested "In the Evening", not a quality cover of it on here, because Page and Zeppelin draw huge viewer number, as do the Beatles, Stones, Hendrix, Clapton, Beck, Van Halen, Ozzy, ect. Do a few searches and you'll see what I mean. Bottom Line, I don't think you're getting your just do on here for your talent and the quality of your covers...........

I appreciate your concern but views are not my main concern with this channel. I don't make money from these videos so I don't equate views as being the main thing I should care about. I would rather have a smaller number of people who watched these videos who shared similar musical tastes to me rather than the other way around.
