I used to be the warehouse manager for Sunray electric. The building that was once Keys still had a lot of remnants from the Keys days. There was a conveyor belt and a working elevator.

Walter: Ron from Las Vegas....I really appreciate your work, even though my beloved McKeesport's deterioration is depressing. At least my memories are there....The Famous, Star Restaurant, The Club Car Diner, Memorial Theater, Liberty Theater, Cox's Men's store, Progressive Music and on and on.......all gone.

I remember Key's Distributors. I bought an ID bracelet as a Christmas present for an old boyfriend there back around 1974. They even engraved it for me. Good memories. I'm an old Elizabeth Township girl who moved to Virginia in 1984, but I remember McKeesport when it was "Boom City".

Wow, they still have utility lines on street poles there, and they are super cluttered and ugly with gobs of wires to boot. Unfortunately, with so much area decay, they'll likely never remove them. There is a charm to the industrial-era town's "look" though, especially for model railroad inspiration. It looks like a fascinating place to explore, as well. And the people are probably awesome! Thanks for the tour :)

Thanks for sharing, i live here and i was trying to talk to some European and UK friends about where we live and how its just a different here. Like they forgot us. I am moving out of state -my husband got a infinitely better job out of state - but raised my son 10 years here. Met good hard working salt of the earth people here. Had some weird experiences 😂 but loved my time in Mckeesport

McKeesport needs to invest in new roads, those roads neglected. That area doesn't look that depressing with sunshine in the summer.
