The way Eminem described the toxic relationship was so spot on! I have never heard any other song that comes close to how hard this hit people's emotions in regard to that type of relationship. He has a way with storytelling in his music that is just second to none!

The story goes about this is Em thought he’d finished the Recovery Album but then Paul Rosenberg gave Em Skylar’s hook and was like Damn. He told Paul if You can get RiRi to do the hook then it’ll go on the album. RiRi was shocked that Em wanted to work with her. RiRi was do a tour at the time and she was in Ireland 🇮🇪 and she went straight into the studio and recorded the hook for Love The Way You Lie. Loved that You done part one and part two they are amazing absolutely incredible. Loved Your Reactions. The emotions in both their voices is just something else. RiRi still get’s Royalties from this song still till today.

"Love you more" is beautiful and scary,even more raw because he wrote it while all that stuff was happening,"Love the way you lie" is more polished,perfect writing,it comes after years,a lot of life experiences, getting sober,therapy, and reflecting over the abusive relationship cycle. Love them both,and love Em being so transparent as usual in writing about his life,we can follow the storytelling on this subject for years and his growth as a man (and this applies obviously to other aspects of his experience that he tackles through the years). To think that he just heard the beat and the hook by Skylar and immediately wrote almost two verses...and then we had this gift of a song

And it’s well produced and the backstory behind Em and Rihanna’s collaboration is amazing!🐐🐐✨💯 “Love The Way You Lie Part II” ~ This song is unfortunately overlooked cause of how greatly impactful the first part is, but I argue Em’s verse is better on this version and the message gets across better, and it tells the perspective of the woman’s story of being in a abusive relationship to the point of being a masochist.

This song reminds me so much of my marriage with my ex-wife. That was an abusive relationship physically, mentally, and emotionally. There was a time when I thought the only way out would be through death. Luckily, I never did anything that would've ended my life, and I'm now free from that relationship and can see even the smallest joy in that relationship, like being able to have my Grandpa be the one to perform the wedding before he passed. I just wish he had told me the truth that he didn't want to perform at the wedding because it wasn't a good relationship and wouldn't be a good marriage.

This is a great song. Great reaction! I can't wait for you to get to "I need a doctor". But I understand that realistically that's a at least 1 year from now. There are so many nuances and references in that song. If Cliff even knows the story behind each line he'll spend 40 minutes explaining how NWA blew up and fell apart, the whole EZ and Cube beef. The car accident. Dre "falling off" after being one of the first creators of "gangster rap" as we know it today. She already knows how Dre was "revived" by Em so that's covered. Not that I'd mind those long explanations, but it'd be better if she knew the whole story or at least some of it beforehand.

Well, part 2 is technically part 1. Because part 2 is almost the original song that Skylar wrote and composed in her cabin in the woods, Rihanna just covers the original lyrics. Eminem adds a verse. Personally I prefer Skylar Grey's version, I think she has more emotions and a better voice, I'm happy that Eminem signed her, he's an incredible talent. You should réact to the OG version ;)
