This student exposed the ridiculousness of religion, much more christianity. Because all Cliffe does is advocates for a style of living he agrees with. Cuz religion is all about a way of living/ a culture and also a political tool bcs it's used to control a set of people. It teaches good but the proof that your truth is the truth cant be proved by any religion. They are all just concepts of people's idea of "God", if there is!

@@mdmishfaqahmed2138 Luke 4:18-19, Jesus reads from the scroll of Isaiah in the synagogue : "The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor." This passage is a declaration of Jesus’ mission, emphasizing liberation and restoration. The term "oppressed" in this context refers broadly to those who suffer under various forms of bondage-spiritual, social, and physical. It aligns with a message of freedom and dignity for all people. In the first-century context, slavery was a widespread societal norm, but Jesus’ teachings often challenged systems of injustice and inequality. Early Christian communities reflected this by promoting spiritual equality (e.g., Galatians 3:28: "There is neither slave nor free, for you are all one in Christ Jesus"). Over time, these principles inspired abolitionist movements that sought to end slavery. Thus, while Jesus’ mission included all who are oppressed, including slaves, his focus was transformative at both spiritual and societal levels.

@Taitui808Ай бұрын
@velkyn1 if you don't mind, I would like to try to answer this. Both Mary's saw an angel at the tomb with it rolled away and telling them that Jesus was no longer here but has risen The disciples were the first ones in the tomb as both Mary's went back to them after being told by an angel God will not punish you for something you didn't do, though we are all sinners, we will all be judge differently based on how we lived our lives with or without believing. PS my answers come from personal experience and reading the NIV version of the Bible as its the only one I have at the moment.
@velkyn1Ай бұрын
@@Taitui808 Curious how your bible says otherwise, Tait. This is what the gospel of John has: "arly on the first day of the week, while it was still dark, Mary Magdalene came to the tomb and saw that the stone had been removed from the tomb. 2 So she ran and went to Simon Peter and the other disciple, the one whom Jesus loved, and said to them, ‘They have taken the Lord out of the tomb, and we do not know where they have laid him.’ 3 Then Peter and the other disciple set out and went towards the tomb. 4 The two were running together, but the other disciple outran Peter and reached the tomb first. 5 He bent down to look in and saw the linen wrappings lying there, but he did not go in. 6 Then Simon Peter came, following him, and went into the tomb. He saw the linen wrappings lying there, 7 and the cloth that had been on Jesus’ head, not lying with the linen wrappings but rolled up in a place by itself. 8 Then the other disciple, who reached the tomb first, also went in, and he saw and believed; 9 for as yet they did not understand the scripture, that he must rise from the dead. 10 Then the disciples returned to their homes." so your claim that both marys were there is wrong. Mary M just saw the stone removed, no angel. Peter was the first in since the other disciple stayed outside and went in after Peter. the gospel of Luke has: "ut on the first day of the week, at early dawn, they came to the tomb, taking the spices that they had prepared. 2 They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, 3 but when they went in, they did not find the body.[a] 4 While they were perplexed about this, suddenly two men in dazzling clothes stood beside them. 5 The women[b] were terrified and bowed their faces to the ground, but the men[c] said to them, ‘Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here, but has risen.[d] 6 Remember how he told you, while he was still in Galilee, 7 that the Son of Man must be handed over to sinners, and be crucified, and on the third day rise again.’ 8 Then they remembered his words, 9 and returning from the tomb, they told all this to the eleven and to all the rest. 10 Now it was Mary Magdalene, Joanna, Mary the mother of James, and the other women with them who told this to the apostles. 11 But these words seemed to them an idle tale, and they did not believe them. 12 But Peter got up and ran to the tomb; stooping and looking in, he saw the linen cloths by themselves; then he went home, amazed at what had happened." so there are women, including Mary and Mary M, which is not what you claim. They found the stone rolled away. Two men were in the tomb with them, not one angel. Peter went to the tomb alone and did not enter. The gospel of Mark says: "When the sabbath was over, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices, so that they might go and anoint him. 2 And very early on the first day of the week, when the sun had risen, they went to the tomb. 3 They had been saying to one another, ‘Who will roll away the stone for us from the entrance to the tomb?’ 4 When they looked up, they saw that the stone, which was very large, had already been rolled back. 5 As they entered the tomb, they saw a young man, dressed in a white robe, sitting on the right side; and they were alarmed. 6 But he said to them, ‘Do not be alarmed; you are looking for Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He has been raised; he is not here. Look, there is the place they laid him. 7 But go, tell his disciples and Peter that he is going ahead of you to Galilee; there you will see him, just as he told you.’ 8 So they went out and fled from the tomb, for terror and amazement had seized them; and they said nothing to anyone, for they were afrai" all other verses after this were added much later. So, we have the women arriving, seeing the stone already moved. Then they saw a single man in the tomb, not two and no angels. The women tell no one about this and so the disciples don't come at all. I'll continue in part 2.
@velkyn1Ай бұрын
@@Taitui808 part 2. And finally we come to Matthew: "After the sabbath, as the first day of the week was dawning, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to see the tomb. 2 And suddenly there was a great earthquake; for an angel of the Lord, descending from heaven, came and rolled back the stone and sat on it. 3 His appearance was like lightning, and his clothing white as snow. 4 For fear of him the guards shook and became like dead men. 5 But the angel said to the women, ‘Do not be afraid; I know that you are looking for Jesus who was crucified. 6 He is not here; for he has been raised, as he said. Come, see the place where he[a] lay. 7 Then go quickly and tell his disciples, “He has been raised from the dead,[b] and indeed he is going ahead of you to Galilee; there you will see him.” This is my message for you.’ 8 So they left the tomb quickly with fear and great joy, and ran to tell his disciples. 9 Suddenly Jesus met them and said, ‘Greetings!’ And they came to him, took hold of his feet, and worshipped him. 10 Then Jesus said to them, ‘Do not be afraid; go and tell my brothers to go to Galilee; there they will see me.’" So only two women come, and saw the stone being rolled back by an angel, which the others contradict. There are guards, which don't show up in any other gospel. It seems that Mary and Mary somehow either enter the tomb or at least look in. And meet Jesus directly, touching him. The disciples never show up. Per John, he cannot be touched at all and that Mary M is alone when she sees jesus, being unable to recognize him. You aren't doing well, Tait. This god repeatedly punishes people for what they didn't do: " For you did it secretly; but I will do this thing before all Israel, and before the sun.’ 13 David said to Nathan, ‘I have sinned against the Lord.’ Nathan said to David, ‘Now the Lord has put away your sin; you shall not die. 14 Nevertheless, because by this deed you have utterly scorned the Lord,[a] the child that is born to you shall die.’ 15 Then Nathan went to his house. The Lord struck the child that Uriah’s wife bore to David, and it became very ill. 16 David therefore pleaded with God for the child; David fasted, and went in and lay all night on the ground. 17 The elders of his house stood beside him, urging him to rise from the ground; but he would not, nor did he eat food with them. 18 On the seventh day the child died. " 2 Samuel 12 "29 At midnight the Lord struck down all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh who sat on his throne to the firstborn of the prisoner who was in the dungeon, and all the firstborn of the livestock. 30 Pharaoh arose in the night, he and all his officials and all the Egyptians; and there was a loud cry in Egypt, for there was not a house without someone dead. " Exodus 12 "5 You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I the Lord your God am a jealous God, punishing children for the iniquity of parents, to the third and the fourth generation of those who reject me, 6 but showing steadfast love to the thousandth generation[b] of those who love me and keep my commandments." Exodus 20 and we can't forget about original sin "17 If, because of the one man’s trespass, death exercised dominion through that one, much more surely will those who receive the abundance of grace and the free gift of righteousness exercise dominion in life through the one man, Jesus Christ." Romans 5 curious how this god also says it would never do this: "16 Parents shall not be put to death for their children, nor shall children be put to death for their parents; only for their own crimes may persons be put to death." Deut 24 "18 The word of the Lord came to me: 2 What do you mean by repeating this proverb concerning the land of Israel, ‘The parents have eaten sour grapes, and the children’s teeth are set on edge’? 3 As I live, says the Lord God, this proverb shall no more be used by you in Israel. 4 Know that all lives are mine; the life of the parent as well as the life of the child is mine: it is only the person who sins that shall die." Ezekiel 18 If you'd like to look at other bible versions, I definitely recommend the biblegateway website. It has quite a few different versions and you can search by chapter and verse and by keyword.

A repented sinner qualifies for sanctification a plain sinner for damnation. And the more I learn about Jesus I find out how to define myself before him: a slave of his, worthless servant, hungry and thirstier for righteousness,a soul in great need of his Grace and dependency of God. Therefore I need to obey Him, praise Him, love Him, pray to Him, live for Him. That implies forget about me. Stop being loving myself.

Where did Matthew, Mark, Luke and John claim Jesus to be God? Which biblical passages? Are there any biblical passages which say Jesus was not God? Are we reading the disciples words in their own language today? Or are we reading them in a translated language, English? Do translators or publishers ever have an agenda? You may think from all my questions that I am against Christianity. I am not. I am a believer. I do not think that it is necessary to say "Jesus was God" in order to promote the truth of Christianity. We should ask- Why are there differences between faiths and philosophies? What made Muhammad (wikipedia spelling) write (or speak) the things he did? Were there wars in his area of the world? Was there an attempt to convert him and his people? If so, did he think that the phrase "Son of God" meant "from the tribe of God"? Was he thinking Christianity was about ethnicity? Jesus did not think that. (Matthew 23:9) What was common between Israel and Arabia? In Israel during Jesus time the Romans were there. Rome was occupying it visibly. Rome had been in an expansion mode for a long time. Has that stopped? Or has it just gone underground? In order for people to unite, some issues need to be resolved. Can we prove the existence of God if we can not see God? (John 1:18, 1 John 4:12). Do holy people expect their followers to prove God's existence in their own life? If we can not see God how do we prove God exists? (Revelation 1:4) Can something unseeable be practical in our life? Is God practical to us today? Does believing God is the "big guy in the sky" make God practical? St. Paul apparently wanted the Thessalonian church people to "prove all things". (5:21) The Bible had not been codified yet. What Thessalonia had was the sermons of Paul and this first letter. And yet Paul was saying, prove what I say. Imagine that? God and his power and wisdom (Christ- 1 Corinthians 1:24) was practical, provable! Don't we need a better definition of God than "the big guy in the sky"?

That's why you can't put your faith in Christianity, but you can put it in Jesus himself.
@ethandaniel1424Ай бұрын
@jonmilton3178 Trusting the person that the source originated from (Jesus) is better than trusting the society that could possibly misrepresent him (Christianity). True Christians are people who follow Jesus, but they can still make mistakes about what he taught. You can't expect people to be perfect representatives of God, because we are very fallible. It is for that reason that it is foolish to trust Christianity. You can be a part of it, but you can't trust it to always make the right decisions. Jesus is different from that: he will always make the right decision (infalliable). Think of the recent S. Korea martial law emergency. The citizens are a part of government, and they reapply the benefits, but they must realize that government is run by flawed people and is inherently flawed, just like Christianity. But, if an God exists, then it is only natural to know that He won't mess up, and you can trust Him.

@@jonmilton3178 Jesus Christ very much is different from American Christianity. One example being, there are some American churches that would automatically make judgements and pre-conceived notions about someone's clothing or appearance which isn't very Christ-like. Yet, if you go into the bible, you'll find verses like 1 Samuel 16:7. (But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.”).

I love it when smart young people ask questions like this-it shows they are really searching for the truth. Its so cute.. But think about it: if you're smart enough, how could a book, written by over 40 people with no communication devices, be so precise? They didn’t meet each other, and some didn’t even know each other. I mean, even in today’s world, you can't replicate such precision without the help of communication tools. That’s why Zoom was created-to gather people, discuss topics, agree on them, and then write. Imagine not having that, but still managing to be so consistent with one belief. 🤷 I mean, you're too smart not to notice that, right?

Most people don't realize Jesus called himself "Son of Man" over 80 times, but never directly said "I am God." The strongest divine claims only appear in John's Gospel (written 60+ years after Jesus died), while the earliest Gospel (Mark) presents a much more human Jesus. Even the title "Son of God" was commonly used for kings and righteous people in ancient Judaism without meaning literal divinity. The evidence suggests Jesus's teachings focused on the Kingdom of God, not claiming to be God himself. Early Jewish followers of Jesus, like the Ebionites, saw him as human, not divine - makes you think! 🤔

Perhaps u can’t believe because u feel there is a “lack of evidence” for Jesus. Well, let me share some. Dr. Gary Habermas (PHD historian) has many videos (and books) on the historical evidence for the resurrection of Jesus. They are very informative. He spent years researching data from both inside and outside of the Bible as well as looking at data & conclusions from other PHD historians. He is a university professor. He originally was an atheist but converted to Christianity after his research. He felt that the evidence for the resurrection being true far outweighed the data implying it was false. 1 hr 20 min. kzbin.info/www/bejne/l6rCdZVqh9yNla8si=8L1ZH_EyoX63DlUd Dr. Craig S. Keener wrote a book called “Miracles Today” where he talks about the power of prayer: how people are being healed (and demons being cast out) by the Holy Spirit in Jesus’ name. Christian missionaries all over the world witness (and take part in) these events daily. This is huge is India and Africa where villages have shamans as their spiritual leaders. When someone who has been blind since birth is healed by a missionary using the power of the Holy Spirt, people in that village are extremely open to hearing about the gospel. The book specifically documents medical miracles. It shows before and after images, along with medically documented spontaneous cures. There is rigorous documentation & affidavits written by medical professionals. There are also tons of videos and testimonies out there about how people (many of them were atheists) that had a personal encounter with Jesus. Their lives were dramatically changed after that. It had such an impact that even years later when they talk about it, they get emotional. I’ll list some examples here. This video is about an Islamic terrorist (obviously very anti-Christian) who encounters Jesus in his prison cell. 3 minutes. kzbin.info/www/bejne/oZS7eISOYrGDhq8si=QB20QcD3BnsTx60l This video is about a guy had a violent abusive alcoholic father who would beat his mother. Yes, the most important saying and central most important thing is Jesus! However, in this particular debate, if one does not accept the answer that Jesus was God in the flesh shed his blood and died on a cross for our sins, and rose from the dead, what other distinction can be made to convince somebody that it’s not just another form of religion? in fact, what would convince anyone to want to become a Christian, just the right correct information? The answer is no and yes. Unfortunately, Cliff misses one of the most important points and that is it’s a salvation is a free gift from God, not based on your performance, but based on what God gave, and what Jesus did, based on the performance of Jesus! That he paid the penalty for our sins! No other religion on the face of the Earth does that! In fact, Islam teaches every man she’ll pay for his own sin! Every other religion Catholicism, all of it is based on the person’s performance, which is actually based on the 10 Commandments do good. Get good. Do bad get bad you get what you deserve! The world did not deserve Jesus, the world did not deserve Jesus to take their place and die for them and for their sins, and we don’t deserve the free gift of eternal life! all that is called mercy and Grace, and there’s no other religion in the face of the Earth that even comes close.! god gave Jesus what he didn’t deserve to be punished for since he didn’t commit, so he could give us and who so ever will, what they don’t deserve, to be forgiven, and given eternal life!
