[23] So they proposed two: Joseph, called Barsabbas, who was also known as Justus, and Matthias. [24] Then they prayed, "You, Lord, know everyone's hearts; show which of these two you have chosen [25] to take the place in this apostolic ministry that Judas left to go where he belongs." @randyd9805Ай бұрын
I learned how to sin and do evil all by myself. Nobody taught me to do it or that it was right or wrong to do certain things like lying or stealing. They didn't teach you either. I'm not saying nobody taught you about right and wrong growing up, but you knew when you committed sin without anyone telling you. I knew I had committed sins as early as 4 and 5 years old. Some even know earlier than that. It's called having a conscience and it's in all human beings. You may have learned more about sin by going to church but nobody has to teach you stealing and other sins that I can't name on KZbin without getting flagged are wrong. Did anyone teach you it is wrong to lie, cheat, steal, use vulgar language, etc.? That conscience was put there by God and it can be corrupted as you grow older according to the Bible. It can even be "seared with a hot iron" according to First Timothy 4:2. There are many people walking around right now whose consciences no longer respond to right or wrong. Btw, I was not raised as a Christian and barely went to church while growing up. I came to know Jesus Christ at the age of 20 and I had plenty of sinning under my belt by then, but Jesus Christ forgave all of them by His grace.

@msmd329520 күн бұрын
Ok… wait one minute… the first words from Cliffe’s mouth is that Jesus was “absorbing” the penalty for OUR wrong-doing. Who or what was it that “created” EVERYTHING?? To my recollection it was some supernatural being referred to as “god” (or Allah or some other “spirit”) . Well, if god created US then who should be responsible for OUR wrong-doing ?? GOD !! Don’t be “hoodwinked” by Cliffe in this episode. He’s simply too locked into his own theistic mindset to perceive the facts in front of him. So here’s just one overlooked fact (argued “logically”). I’ll use a “painter” as an analogy. Say, a person that paints portraits is commissioned to paint a likeness for some prominent person. After the painting is finished the person of whom the likeness was painted concludes “it’s a piece of pig manure”. Now, should the person whose likeness was painted take responsibility for the handiwork of someone else ?? You bet NOT !! The exact same reasoning applies to the creation of the physical universe. In the field of “philosophy” a Perfect thing is described in such a way that whatever that thing is, if it’s perfect then it’s perfect in every way that thing could possibly be. Were that thing to change in Any way, it would no longer be perfect. Nietzsche was right… god is dead or should be dead. Because what did god do ?? God created an entire universe out of what ? The universe is made entirely of Atoms, physical matter. And everyone should know that matter is an Imperfect substrate to make anything “perfect” ! Why? Because it is the very Nature of matter to be in a constant state of change. If you’re an adult you should already know this… just look around, NOTHING in a physical universe remains the same forever !! Cars & buildings deteriorate, plants, animals & people die, stars explode, the weather & geology of the Earth constantly changes, etc etc. and eventually the physics of entropy indicates even this universe will die at some point. And all theists (in particular christians & muslims of contemporary times) believe (have been taught) there’s something else after they die ?? ! That they’ll live in some paradise for all eternity ?? And all they have to do is believe Mohammed or believe “in” an ancient Jewish rabbi referred to as “Jesus” ?? I believe there may very well have been such a rabbi. What I (and anyone else should) do is to NOT readily accept the supernatural “miracles” attributed to Jesus. It’s far more plausible that ancient rabbi was sufficiently aware of other people’s misery & suffering and tried to give those ancient people around him some form of Hope of a better life after their miserable lives were over. As a result he developed a new specie of “mysticism”. Jews originally didn’t believe in an afterlife (although there are now Jesus-believing Jews). And the motive for believing in Jesus is what one may as well characterize as an emotional “security blanket”, a promise of paradise after this miserable life ends. The human ego for most people simply refuses to accept the prospect of their own death some day. But death should be any more feared than being born. They’re both aspects of life.

The 10 Commandments are the objective laws that you find in every culture, ethnicity or nation on earth. The 10 Commandments aren’t just for one particular group of people, they are for everyone. Jesus told His disciples and others in Matthew 22:37-40 that love is the motive behind all of the laws and what the prophets taught. The ceremonial laws are laws that are particular to Israelites circumcision , don’t eat pork, don’t eat shellfish etc. The Civil laws or laws of the land are what PEOPLE do in that culture or geographical area, speed limits, noise abatement laws, paying taxes etc. The 10 Commandments found in Exodus 20:3-17 are for all time and you don’t need to be of a particular religious persuasion to practice them. I don’t have to be a Jew to practice the 10 Commandments, nor do I have to be a Christian or a Hindu or Sikh or Buddhist to practice them.

Why do Cliffe assumes there must be perfect justice for every injustice? He just assumes this to make his point. And if he actually cared about justice, then take the punishment you deserve and don't accept the substitutional atonement.
@IthinkImOk-k7g2 ай бұрын
Sure, when we stand before a judge in our court system, he will give u the punishment u rightly deserve. And if u have multiple infractions: shoplifting, evading the police, resisting arrest, etc.. he will add up all the penalties before pronouncing sentence. When we stand before God the Father, the problem is that even a tiny infraction (sin) blocks us from entering Heaven, because Heaven is pure, glorious, sinless beauty. So, when God adds up the penalties for our sins, it will be very bad news for us. NOBODY is worthy to even be in God’s presence, much less to live with him in Heaven. But because God loves us and values us so much, Jesus volunteered to take our punishment by suffering and dying on the cross. His blood washes away our sin. He essentially bought our ticket to Heaven. He then stands next to us saying “I love u. That’s why I sacrificed myself for u… to save u. All I ask is that u put your faith & trust in me and follow me. Will u do that?” He made is so easy for EVERYONE to go to Heaven and live with God. How wonderful it is to realize that we are NOT saved by what we do… we are saved by what Jesus did… because no matter what WE do, we will never deserve Heaven on our own… no matter how kind, generous, helpful or compassionate we are, good deeds don’t cancel out our bad ones. Just like when we stand before the judge after we have been caught shoplifting and we say “Wait a minute: I donated money to the poor, I volunteer at a homeless shelter… isn’t that good?” The judge will say “Those deeds are very good. However, they do not cancel out the crimes u have been convicted of”. That’s the point: God puts such a HUGE priority on us just being humble and putting our faith and trust in him and his plan of salvation thru the atoning sacrifice of Jesus on the cross, that IF WE DO THAT… he will embrace us warmly, forgive ALL our sins, and welcome us into Heaven. He is NOT focused on punishing us… he is focused on SAVING us.

@@DanielRodriguez-zj5ilyou should probably actually read what he wrote as he answered your question instead of being smug. Doesn’t make you right or look smart, quite the opposite. The entire concept of justice comes theological reasoning in the first place. So the idea of laws and the punishment for breaking such laws comes from that. So Judaic and Christian origin on those concepts stem from the God of Abraham and the beliefs centered on that. Our justice system is modeled, yet flawed by human nature, after a perfect judgement of an all knowing and powerful God. On earth you speed, you pay a fine, shoplift go to jail for a short time, assault someone you go to jail longer, worse than that much much longer or for life. The concept only differs with God as he’s a being outside of time, space, and place and therefore infinite and eternal. And a being of eternal nature can only deal judgement on a scale of infinite eternity. So the one sin, unpaid for, unfortunately casts you to hell for eternity. As sin is only an action outside of the Lords will, so in choosing to act in separation of Him, He casts you to eternity without Him. Jesus pays that debt asking you only put faith in Him in knowing salvation only comes from God and not from human works or actions. But either way if you don’t believe in God or hell and choose a life of separation from Him willingly why do you even care or worry what somewhat thinks of judgement or perfect judgment for sins equaling eternal separation from God? It should be of no worth or reason for you to even watch or comment on the video but yet you do….. wonder why that is…… I know why, just hope you ask yourself and find the reason before it’s too late
