Bought one few years back. Giant POS as is wouldn't lock in strap stretches out doesn't bite and hold. Pulled bolt used lag bolt screwed into tree for seatless ladder stand left in for permanent set.

Agreed. I just bought one and I'm considering taking it back before i use it. They tell you in the directions to lift the seat and tighten the strap which would make you think it snugs down when you push the seat down, but in actuality it doesn't matter if the seat is up or down because there it doesnt work that way. Mine came without the seat support attached and the directions made no remarks about it. There's four screws for it but I'm going to need the jaws of life to spread the seat wide enough to wedge it in there. Turd of a product and the directions were garbage but it was cheap. Not sure what I'm going to do with it at this point.

By chance... if mesh does make some noise on the metal...... Get some Hoppe's Dri Lube. I used it to silence a mesh seat similar to this seat's design.

Hey, nice review. I'm considering purchasing one of these, and using the mesh seat to replace the seat of another stand I have. What size is the post that the seat bolts to?

It's a 1 inch post but the bracket on the seat is 1 3/16

I’m thinking the same thing - it’s rated for 300 lbs. could modify the seat or remove it and add wood platform or something. It’s not like the platform adds any safety in saddle hunting you’re already strapped in. I’m thinking the only issue would be side pressure if you’re swinging around for a shot.

​@CliftonDenneyOnYourOwnOutdoors I've heard complaints about the V bracket on the bottom having a bar that goes across preventing the V bracket from contacting the tree properly. Any thoughts on that?
