Don't miss the last comment-"Boy, we don't want to think about that...." That's right. That's what we've been doing for 49 years. Didn't she hear Walter Cronkite at the beginning of the broadcast.

@@parajacks4 Except Greta wants us to panic and panicked humans are stupid and dangerous herd animals who almost always makes the problem worse. I think we can still figure a way out of the mess we've gotten ourselves into, but as long as the political and socioeconomic status quo remains in place it isn't going to happen and we are going to have a hard road ahead. I still have hope, but it fades a bit more every time I hear someone say how they just can't or don't want to think about it. Thanks Gayle!

The greed of a few has severely hurt the masses. How much effort does it take to recycle? Very little; however most folks consider it an imposition. WOW!!!. I hope this changes minds.

Nor does the evidence of climate that has occurred over the last century show up when conditions are described to the public. MSM, just shows you what they want you to see. Ring the alarm! Please!

Not quite the expletive laden way I expressed myself, but glad someone else made the comment. I also don't want people to panic like young Greta Thunberg suggests because when we panic we tend to do stupid things that only make the situation worse. But it might be a good idea to take it a bit more seriously than the farmer they interviewed. It would be wonderful if we all had a global moment of clarity and get our collective poop in a group as a species to solve this problem, but I'm afraid there are too many obstacles, egos and people getting rich off the status quo to make that happen. I've been thinking that we may be heading for an unavoidable species-wide culling that happens whenever the planetary systems get too stressed by over-population or environmental problems. It's would be best to stop driving all the rest of the species to extinction along with our own, but at the very least you'd think we'd want to save the humans.

Shouldn't it be the responsibility of local and state government to enlighten people against destructive behaviors that can't then be undone? It's long overdue for citizens and their leadership to stop living in denial. With >> 100 million/yr more, plus an otherwise welcomed death rate decrease, over population is the hottest fuel driving climate change-which is certainly impacting the western states faster than almost anywhere else in the nation, what with dwindling rain and ground water supplies and larger, more frequent and longer lasting wild fires. We have indeed met the enemy and it is us-or more precisely TOO MANY of us.

I don´t understand wat you are winning about, Colorado river end like a drissel in Baja California. Rio grande has never been that big of a river. Its been more like a borderline. Don´t blame it on climat change or what ever. ADABT. That is the answer. You can do nada against climate change, it just happen.

Normally glacier melt provides water during the drier summer months but as glaciers recede and disappear,rivers around the world are drying up w during the summer months just when water is most need,with devastating effects for people and wildlife.And on the other hand,a warmer atmosphere holds more water vapour which is likely to pour down during the winter, causing massive flooding events.
@aylahughes9185
@aylahughes9185 2 жыл бұрын
that's so false. rio grand is fed by rain and snow melt only. pretty much all the glacier melt witch is still negligible flows into the Colorado river. but lets be clear. that glacier is in Colorado, and utah, and its small. not a real ice sheet. and it certainly doesn't come from Greenland. im sure if we continue to discuss this it will be more and more obvious you dont know jack.

A warmer world would be beneficial for humans because in a warmer world would be better for growing food. But in a colder world would be worse because you can't grow food in the cold and the human race would be facing extinction

Not a whole lot. China and India alone are over a billion each. Even in the US, the number increased by over 50 million within just the last 30 years. The fact is humans, whatever their god, are drowning themselves in their own numbers-which is by far the hottest fuel driving climate change. ALL people need to practice zpg; reproducing no more than the twice the pair number. AND zero kids for either of them if they remarry or otherwise pair up with another. OR stay child-free; lots of ways to learn a joyful and meaningful life without making babies.
