I have climbed Kill 3 times . I had attended Machame, and twice Lemosho . My favourite guide is Joseph Marandu from Moshi who is working for Zara Tours. Love my guides and porters, they give all they have to support climbers every step of the way ! I love Tanzania, it’s people. We have so much to learn from! Mungu Awabariki Rafiki Wangu . 21 of jan 2017 at 07:02 I was at Uhuru Peak. Your video is so helpful for those who are making their attempt to climbe Kilimanjaro. In some videos it might seem easy and most of the videos consists of music and footage. Really appreciate your video since it shows how it really is, you get affected with the altitude. NO ONE that has not been at that altitude have any idea how it feels. You can´t breathe but you still have to walk uphill. Thank you and good job walking up that mountain!

At 8:57 the man’s story is like mine. My friend who I just met told me that his greatest dream is climbing Kilimanjaro. I was at a different phase of my life . I was into posh most luxurious resort so sleeping in a tent ⛺️ on the ground wasn’t my cup of tea. Came home and a week later want d to know why my new friend wants to climb Kilimanjaro. It grew on me . Zoom in 8 months in, he and I ventured out to climb. I’m forever grateful to Tomek for his inspiration. Forever grateful to the guides and porters for the experience. I got very sick and had to be evacuated in the middle of the night as my life was hanging on a threat . I m looking at the trail and feel your steps . I know exactly where you are and what I was doing at that point. I still want to attempt the mountain one more time! My Tanzanian friends discourage me out of fear that I won’t make to the summit or die as they see people dying on the summit. May God bless all the climbers on the way to and from the summit! Attitude BEFORE altitude! REMEMBER THAT!

There is something deeply humbling about standing in the high places of the world. The raw untamed world, the sheer physical will it takes to get there. It forces us to look inward and contemplate ourselves. There is an honesty and truthfullness about mountains. Well done all of you. This is a climb I would love to make some day. Beautiful. And what wonderful people your guides were.

A great account. no body should underestimate the danger and physical challenge of this. It is the hardest thing that i have ever done. only 1 in 4 makes the summit. Ball breaking. a combination of suffocation, sea sickness, pounding sinusitis headache and heart attack. Add to that dehydration and the dreaded dysentery that comes with the filthy dust c/o oral-fecal pathway. fair play to the hard core few that make it.

Yvonne S. I have climbed as a private client lone traveler and a female . I highly recommend this trip as private ! You walk at your own speed . You have guides and porters. My tour company was Zara Tours . My guide was Joseph Marandu - he speaks English, they have a fantastic cook and they are great knowledgeable staff! You can request a person to guide you if you know someone. I had my own toilet so I didn’t have to walk to the public washroom which is disgusting! And in the middle of the night attempting to get here is a challenge contending with the boldest in your path . I would also advise doing at the time when is a full moon 🌕. Spectacular views even at night ! Good luck ! Jola

I am an overweight and 58 year old Christian and did Everest Base Camp in April 2017. This is by far the more inspirational and informational video I've seen for either EBC or Kili. Too many videos have no story, emotion or spirituality and generally have very annoying music. I plan to do Kili in mid January next year. I have a few questions (1) what training did you guys do in preparation (2) did any or all of you use diamox to alleviate potential AMS (3) if you are slow is there a time limit in doing the summit ascent (4) I had AMS on final day into Base Camp and God helped me to survive that day. I was physically empty and spiritually full. I fear that Kili is beyond but you guys have shown me that a lot of training and plenty of faith can help me to the top.
