I climbed Mount Fuji, Japan's tallest mountain in August. I'm glad I was able to check it off my bucket list. Definitely, the most physically and mentally demanding thing I've ever done but it was worth it all!!
If you're planning to hike up some day and would like to know more, I would love to hear from you so leave a comment and I'll get back to you!
Special thanks to my friends, Asuka and Angela!!!
Hope you guys enjoy!

Next time, I would recommend starting from the bottom. I took the route from Fujiyoshida station, all the way to the top, and it was amazing. There's so much on that route that you don't get to experience if you just take the commercial fifth station.

Hi Max, great video thanks so much! We are planning a Mt. Fuji hike in August 2024 and would like to copy the same hike as you did in this video. We are on a tight travel budget and would like to do this without a guided group tour? We may need a few gear rental items and it looks like we could simply follow the herd and make a reservation in advance for the hut on the 8th station? How do we contact the hut for reservations? Any info would be greatly appreciated!
@MaxKimura

Congratulations on climbing Mt. Fuji! Haha aren't those walking sticks so cool? I climbed Fuji twice last year (failed to summit the first time because of heavy rains and winds and the staff of the lodge asked us to go down instead), and got to the peak during the 2nd try! I have climbing poles so I bough the short sticks. lol I love your friends! hahaha they're so funny! The only time they were so full of emotion was when you told them your new friend is 64 years old! haha Great video, Maximilian! How was your Shirouma hike btw?

If you’re relatively fit, physically it shouldn’t be a problem. For me, it was the effects of the altitude like headache, nausea and inability to sleep… Just be sure to acclimatize at the 5th station before you start. I wish you luck and success!!! It’s definitely more of a mental battle.
