This is INCREDIBLE Brian!! The terrain with the shale rock, reminds me of "Castle Rock" with your dad at Camp Verdant Vales!!

Hey man, nice video! I already climbed Izta from La Joya. I'm willing to try the same route that you did. How did you get to that refugio where you parked the Jeep? Can you share the route? Saludos
@theworldhiker12 жыл бұрын
Hey! Yes we went up from the refugio, through the boulder field and then straight up the ridge!

Amazing. Congrats on making it to the summit! I'm looking to climb Orizaba this November. What training did you do to get ready? It sounds like you got a lot of snow, were there any slippery parts with ice? Any general advice? Much thanks for the great video.

Thanks! I trail run constantly which helps. Ice axe and crampons where a must when we did Pico for sure.

Spectacular!!! Lovely to join you and listen and see this incredible area of Mexico. My partner is from Mexico City and she says that about 10 years ago, they were flat out told, don't go near any of those mountains, due to cartel and robber danger. Did you experience or hear anything like this? It looked like there were tons of people out there, so is it not considered dangerous to be out and about there (I'm talking about human danger, not volcano or altitude danger)?
@theworldhiker1 Жыл бұрын
I did not feel in danger at all from locals while going to either of these areas. It was a great experience !

Do you plan on climbing the other members of the seven third summits(Kanchenjunga,Mount Pissis,Mount Shkhara,Mawenezi Peak,Trikora Peak/Mount Twynam, & Mount Shinn) or just Orizaba?
