Immediately added to my 2:1 big wall set up, already put to use this fall. It’s a great tool.

Great information. The CT Cric looks like a personal version of the CMC CAPTO. For a device basic rotating pulley your testing shows that the Cric is quite efficient, ~80% - probably much better than running a rope over a carabiner. As one might have to do if using a CT Rollnlock when one needs a 3:1. If you also had a CT Rollnlock with a carabiner and a plastic sheeve pulley - as you showed in the video. Then you could put this, Rollnlock & pulley, in a couple of places for even more hauling options.

That was a great review, lots of tricks. It seems they can no longer get these in the USA and someone said they have been discontinued. I think I'm going to order one from Maple Leaf ropes today. Québec.

You don't need to do any pull tests on this device. There are thousands of case reports that show and explain what damage and at what force a cammed tooth device does to a rope. It will very reliably start to damage the sheath at 5-8kN depending on the rope and the sheath thickness and material.

I agree with your statement except if there was damage to the device at 4kN. That would be a bummer!!!

Video was really helpful TY. Not played with one yet and was hoping it could replace my my hand ascender for caving (maybs rope access also) as well as my micro traxion but: 1) you have to remove it from the carabiner and swing the device open; too faffy for passing rebelays etc. 2)can it go on a loaded rope in progress capture pulley (pcp) mode (for “Spanish balancier’ing” for example)? 3)what you said about it not being as efficient as a traxion in pcp mode. I’ll be eagerly awaiting to see if there’s a mk.2 model and how it differs. .k x

As you say: not the good device for you. Thanks for mentioning the "Spanish balancier" I had to google to find what it was. I don't think the Cric can help more than other devices for this technique, except if you want to rig a 3 to 1 at some point... Makes sense?

Nice video! Do you also have a cmc capto and a camp turbolock on your hands to compare it directly? I missed these in the chart...
@YannCamusBlissClimbing
@YannCamusBlissClimbing 9 ай бұрын
I don't! Would love to have them to compare! Capto 513g 10.5-11mm ropes very similar to the Cric but no sheath ripping teeth... Turbolock 198g 8-13mm ropes 95% efficiency very similar to the 2015-2022 Pro Traxion but 70g lighter and a few other differences!!! BUT I never held them in my hands!!

@@YannCamusBlissClimbing CMC CAPTO clamp is like the Maasdam Pow'R Pull rope come-along pulley - grooved so it grabs the sides of the rope.

For winter climbing, have observed any malfunction with the Soloist? Or Revo? Moisture and Ice related issues? I have seen Your video Part #4 winter testing. Noted you only using Revo on a winter route.

Soloist: no. Revo: yes. See my video on Pomme d’Or. Thanks for contacting me about your rope solo questions! I know it's hard to find a comprehensive and reliable source of information on this topic. That's why I did my research, bought equipment, experimented and adopted a way to teach rope soloing. I do not answer questions in private. My reasons are the following: -It is dangerous to have partial information about security systems -I need an income to continue my mission to teach and innovate I would love to help you find answers to your questions! I suggest the following solutions: -An in-person course (blissclimbing-com.translate.goog/fr/formations/?_x_tr_sl=fr&_x_tr_tl=en) -An online course (blissclimbing.com/en/online-courses/) -A subscription to my Patreon (I answer on the platform) (www.patreon.com/blissclimbing) I prefer to refer to complete courses. The courses should answer 99% of your questions and show you more things you haven't even thought of AND that are essential to being effective and safe! For any remaining questions, I answer every question asked by my clients and try to post everything on the hidden private Facebook groups reserved for buyers of online courses so that all buyers can benefit. I also very often add content to the courses because there is so much to say and teach on the subject AND I still learn quite often! You can always ask your questions on the “regular” public Facebook rope solo groups, but you won't get all correct answers and probably nothing complete. That's why my suggestion is to take the courses!! Looking forward to seeing you buy a course: you will be happy with your choice!!!

Do you suggest buying a Silent Partner used at inflated prices. Over the EVO? You replied a few times to me on comments from different videos including Pomme diode’. I haven’t been direct enough. I’ll review one of courses t give you income. But with my experience you will find a numerous amount of interaction between us. You would need to be available and willing.I’ve taught as guide and instructor as well.

My question does not refer to me learning about systems. I have enough knowledge to assess your opinion. It’s about your incite within your experience and evaluation with the device. You chose to use a Revo on the La Pomme. Including that I’m aware you own 2 soloists. Reason is most likely just more testing. But we are all looking for a suitable replacement for the Soloists.
