The thing I like most about these Norwegian soldiers is their humility. They're supremely fit and adapted to the job, but when they see someone who has more advanced skills in a certain area, they don't pout, they're in awe and looking to learn. A great combination of physical fitness and good personality.

Non negotiable leadership skills. Celebrate those who out do you and learn from them. And give them room to out do you at what you excel at. Instead of being a toxic leader and shutting them down. Because your threatened, because your value is dependent on your performance and position. Something we teach in the church. That is highly aided by finding our value in what God says we are. Not humanity.

I love this in comparison to the previous video as it shows the difference in skillset training. previously Even was just a beast with the endurance/power feats. But the years of climbing, and build Magnus has is just shown off. One can argue the holds are easy (full grip) but it's that upper body able to pull itself up with confidence. I question if it even mattered Magnus was "low energy", so long as his hands and arms weren't burnt out, if he just ran a marathon and he had a bed food and whatever he desired up at the top he'd climb it.

Shows how easily people are fooled by clothing, so many bodybuilders can look fat with baggy clothes that hang in the right bits or overlap on the thinnest bits of limbs etc. You can also have some 'Strongmen' that are close to 20% bodyfat, they look a bit pork, then soon as they tense under load you magically see a deep canyon ridged 6-pack push through because underneath theyre really fucking muscled. Perhaps the worst one for average guys is t-shirt arms that extend and end around the elbows or just above, it's the thin bit and can make you look like an absolute beanpole but just a few inches up it would be hugging snuggly round a bicep :'(

My understanding is that Even was called fat (jokingly) by his mates in the squadron (and Jorgen, the other guy in the video, in particular) while they were filming the first video, not by Internet anons. It doesn't even make sense for it to somehow have been done by Internet users since Magnus filmed the whole set of videos in 3 days so there wouldn't be enough time to: 1) Do the first challenges in the first 2 days; 2) Edit and upload the videos in the second day; 3) See what people are commenting; 4) Do the challenge in the 3rd day and talk about users calling Even "fat".

I think that the difference between an elite force soldier and a sport professional can be summed up in two things : 1. Resilience (mental capacity to handle high pressure challenges without breaking down) 2. Versatility (capacity to maintain high level performances in a variety of different physical tests as opposed to being very good in one test but bad in the others) As he said, he is not the best in all of those tests, but he remains very competitive which is what makes all the difference. These guys are pure machine! Magnus is a very impressive athlete and I thought that he would be fit to be in a special force. Although he had great performances and he is obviously disproportionately more skillful in a specific exercice (I'm sure you guessed which one!), we can see a difference in ability between him and the other guy (forgot his name) when you do an average across all challenges.
