Are there any studies that show that stem cell therapy helps with idiopathic small fiber neuropathy pain? Also what are your thoughts on ketamine therapy for neuropathic pain?

Yes there have been some encouraging results on using stem cells or ketamine to treat neuropathic pain… maybe not idiopathic small fiber neuropathy per se, but definitely on neuropathy in general

@@JoyKongMD Thank you for your response, I'm not sure I understand what you mean by "maybe not I-SFN, but definitely on neuropathy".I thought Neuropathic pain was the same in nature. Can Stem cells help repair the "damaged" nerves of sfn? Also, my PM doctor offered Ketamine infusion for pain, I am deathly afraid of the side effects so I keep holding back :(

I am in PV Mexico and I am receiving treatment for SFN confirmed by a small punch biopsy tomorrow. I have severe nerve damage in my feet that presented in July 2022. I am doing a 300 million MSC IV, 50 million MSC intrathecal, and 25 million in each foot.

I literally just discovered the reason for my SFN....black mold in my home. I finally started working with a functional doctor last month that ran all kinds of urine and blood labs and I am full of mycotoxins. I have spent $300K of my own money on IVIG treatment (insurance denied) prescribed by my Houston TX neurologist with no benefit. The clinic that I am working with here in MX has seen success on SFN cases caused by mold, benzos, and antibiotic injuries. All of these cause autoimmunity and most SFN cases are autoimmune mediated (if not diabetic). Get with a functional doctor and try LDN for pain....it works for SFN in 50% of cases. I am thinking that MSC regrow nerves. I have talked to five people that were destroyed by Cipro and Levaquin and they all improved with MSC treatment.

Hello dear Dr. Kong, I see you as very trustworthy source of info when it comes to cell therapy, I would really love your opinion on autologous immune cell therapy, eg. Thank you for your kind words... I think these immunotherapy such as NK, CIK or DC-CIK can be approaches can be very helpful when it comes to cancer or autoimmune conditions. When we talk about MSCs though, the application is much broader.

Dr. I was chocked by your detailed explanation of the real source of Stem Cells. I HAVE THEREFORE A QUESTION, or a suggestion: If the scientific world has the ability to use the applicable cords taken during child delivery, then why THERE WILL BE MASSIVE EDUCATION TO THE MOTHERS TO BE to donate the cords instead of letting the delivery room throw them in the trash !! wont that education heal some serious diseases in older individuals and benefit mankind?
@JoyKongMD

Thank you for your comment. I hope the hospitals and birthing clinics are indeed educating pregnant mothers so they will have a chance to donate if they do not want to save the cord for their own babies…

Will stem cells treatment address asthma, diverticulitis, BPH, insomnia, and tinnitus and weight loss??
@JoyKongMD
@JoyKongMD Жыл бұрын
There has been some positive evidence showing stem cell therapy been helpful in lung diseases including asthma, as well as inflammatory bowel diseases. However, diverticulitis is an obstructive colon disease commonly associated with lifestyle factors such as obesity, diet, and physical inactivity, and lifestyle modifications and Microbiome optimization may be more appropriate. I have not seen much research on stem cell therapy for BPH, insomnia or weight loss.

MSCs have been shown to promote neural regeneration, and in rare cases, even differentiate into cells of neural lineage (would need younger MSCs such as from the umbilical cord for that, not older bone marrow or fat derived MSCs)

There are centers in many places such as Panamas, but most use expanded cells. Doctors are not allowed to use expanded cells in the US, but high quality native cells seem to be able to achieve the same benefits at much lower number of cells. Surely a therapy with such wide ranging treatment scope deserves the title "panacea".
@JoyKongMD
@JoyKongMD Жыл бұрын
Well, I think the last thing anyone in the stem cell field wants to hear is that stem cell therapy be described as a “panacea” since there is a negative connotation… but the broad range of benefits come from the broad range of mechanisms of action, which come from the profound way life/cell operates. It is true, that this is a whole new way of medicine, that will one day become mainstream and “a matter of fact.”

The studies presented in the video are noteworthy however, they involve cell expansion and/or other applications not available or legal in the US. Where can we find meaningful clinical research demonstrating that YOUR UC product can help patients with problems like knee arthritis, low back pain, shoulder rotator cuff tears, etc.?
@JoyKongMD
@JoyKongMD Жыл бұрын
Thank you for your comment. I guess the best evidence is how well the patients I treat do, as well as patients treated by physicians who use the same products do… they have improved dramatically, in cases of osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis, lupus, liver cirrhosis, traumatic brain injury, Lyme disease, osteoporosis, COPD, heart diseases, tendon injury, low back pain, migraines etc… please take a look at the case studies on American Academy of Integrative Cell Therapy, ALL the cases used unexpanded (native) cells. www.AAICT.org
@bobsacamano2435
@bobsacamano2435 Жыл бұрын
@@JoyKongMD Thank you for your response. I reviewed many of the articles in the “Selected Published Studies” section of the AAICT website. These are research studies conducted in other countries using cell expansion and/or methodologies not legal or available in the US. In short, they have no direct relevance to any therapy, treatment or service you are or are providing. I also reviewed many of the articles in the “Clinical Evidence Excerpts” section and as described, it contains excerpts with many not having the supporting reference of the report. Others, like ED, Anti-Aging, Osteoporosis and Osteoarthritis, involve BMAC, cell expansion and /or manipulation of cells. Methods you do not advocate (BMAC) or that are illegal in the US. In so far as the “Case Studies” section, as you well know a case study is for an individual patient. They are the least publishable unit in medical literature and regarded as low-level evidence as the observations are subject to bias. Moreover, a case study lacks a comparison or control group to compare outcomes and have little statistical validity. Again, this is not meaningful clinical research demonstrating that YOUR UC product can help patients with problems like knee arthritis, low back pain, shoulder rotator cuff tears, etc. Lastly, your Disclaimer states the fact very well: “Conditions listed below are for educational purposes only, and is not intended to make any claims that stem cell therapy can treat any of the listed conditions, unless an FDA approval of such was obtained. Each practitioner needs to carefully evaluate current clinical evidence and individual patient needs, and make sound judgment as to treatment approach”.
@JoyKongMD
@JoyKongMD Жыл бұрын
@@bobsacamano2435 Sounds like you already have some preconceived notions about how clinical evidence is accumulated. For each individual patient whose life is transformed through cell therapy, their treatment and results are certainly very meaningful. Science is pushed forward through such accumulation of individual accounts, until someone is willing to pay for a study. I am conducting a IRB study on stem cell therapy for TBI using the unexpanded umbilical cord stem cell product we use. So far our results have been very good and highly encouraging. It does take time to complete a study, and you can stay tuned:)
@JoyKongMD
@JoyKongMD Жыл бұрын
Also, it has been documented over and over again in scientific literature that cells lose potency and decline in quality through the expansion process, and clinical, our clinic and other clinics who use our product give patients at 1/10 to 1/5 the number of cells used in overseas clinics where expanded cells are used, we achieve just as good if not better results. But I would love to see a study directing comparing the two approaches clinically, but so far no one has done that as far as I know.

@@JoyKongMD Yes mam. The bottom line is currently there are NO Live FDA approved Umbilical Cord Tissue Products. There are only a select number FDA approved live stem cell products and these are only allowed for restricted use such as for bone marrow transplantation in severe end-stage cancer etc. The list is provided in the attachment. www.fda.gov/vaccines-blood-biologics/cellular-gene-therapy-products/approved-cellular-and-gene-therapy-products Also noteworthy, a recent study "Restoring the quantity and quality of elderly human mesenchymal stem cells for autologous cell-based therapies" :Travis J Block Milos Marinkovic et. al. concluded patients in there 80's can provide sufficient quantities of high-quality cells - "it is feasible to obtain large numbers of high-quality autologous (your own) MSCs (Mesenchymal Stem Cells) from the elderly population.” Also, another study from 2018 concluded a patients own cells are more effective than umbilical cord stem cells "Combating Osteoarthritis through Stem Cell Therapies by Rejuvenating Cartilage: A Review, Stem Cells International; Volume 2018, Article ID Lastly, and bottom line - recent independent investigations into 361 Umbilical Cord Tissue Products (not on FDA approved list) by Cornell University and another by Drs. Berger, Centeno, Kisiday, McIlwraith, Steinmetz, published in The American Journal of Sports Medicine 2021, concluded: “no actual living cells and low growth factor levels in all the “live” amniotic cell products they looked at. It should be noted that the CharaCore product was included in both studies and no evidence of live stem cells was found.
