At the time of her Near Death Experience, Karen Thomas was a physical therapist working in Anchorage, Alaska. She injured her back, and during back surgery, the surgeon cut her left common iliac artery causing her to bleed out on the operating room table. During her ensuing Near Death Experience, she observed a surgeon who had been called in from his office to try to save her life.
Karen experienced a visit to the Other Side with a Spiritual Guide and a Life Review Before choosing to return to her body. The surgeon who saved her life confirmed to her what she had viewed him doing when he arrived at the hospital from his office when she went to his office for a follow-up after her discharge from the hospital. Karen was able to find this surgeon again decades later, and he once again recalled her case and that she had shared her near-death experience with him at that time.
Please enjoy my conversation with Karen Thomas.

I had a near death experience. I was up at the ceiling watching all the commotion around my body. I never went beyond the ceiling. I knew that I wasn’t breathing and felt no need to breathe. I was finally pain free and I wanted them to leave me alone. I saw my mother and brother and a dog. They had all died previously. I reached for them but couldn’t touch them. I’m 86 yrs old.

I love this experience. My dear husband died 11 months ago, and I’ve been searching for blessed assurance ever since. Because the concepts and lessons that my husband taught me through our lives, is exactly what the commenter stated who died at 10 years and his conclusion. Through this horrible pain of grief, my spiritual life has grown exponentially. I miss him so very much-he was only 56. And I’ve been floundering from this loss, even though I’ve never lost my faith in goodness and kindness.

Listening to NDE’s definitely make me feel better for a time-then that pain and anger of being “left behind” re-enters my thoughts. I am trying to figure out how to carry the feeling forward and make the steps necessary the build a new life. Part of my problem is (and I am in good therapy) earlier in our life together, we faced some hard circumstances, (not necessarily related to our relationship) and it seems that I never really dealt with or “processed” those hurts and feelings. I just compartmentalized and moved forward. My husband’s death was sudden, unexpected, and very traumatic for me. It seems like his death has opened all of my compartments, forcing me to deal with past hurts, sorrows, and sucker punches. It’s a lot of things. So, along with complex grief, I experienced significant trauma from his death because I tried but could not save him. The guilt….is hard to describe.

Someone left a wonderful testimony on Reddit about having an extremely difficult and abusive narcissist for a grandmother. She went through an NDE during routine surgery. The first thing she did when she saw her daughter again was break down in tears and apologize for how she had treated her for her entire life. Her family said it was as if a switch had been flipped, and she was a completely new human being with zero trace of narcissism, for the rest of her days. It is freakin amazing to me how such a massive core personality change can occur in a person due to NDE - and this was a person in their old age, very set in their ways!

I guess is because , here on earth EGO has a bigger power over our "I" self. When they return, the "I" comes in front of EGO and destroy every part of it.Just a guess, but in my opinion makes sense :)

@@ob2249 I know the general trend is perspective-altering, but thing with narcissism is that it is literally a personality disorder, like BPD, and is designated as incurable by psychiatric professionals. I know very often it is the case that people will have a drastic emotional turnaround, but not having a personality disorder anymore is phenomenal. It is the psychological equivalent of waking up from an NDE and not having cancer anymore. Amazing stuff

I concur. I went to church with my ex. and knew how it would be. We would watch Kenneth Copeland, and Creflo Dollar, paying tithes to them and to our church too. The pastor is a good person, but his family turned the church into a criminal enterprise. They had different auxiliaries that took care of any maintenance on the church building, and mortgage payments. The members paid off the mortgage. I remember that. What got me was they had auxiliaries for everything. Even a few for the Church Mother? I had never heard of a Church Mother. They had one to make her car payments, one to buy her clothes, expensive clothes, panties, Bras, not cheap bras, shoes, gas. It was a racket. This woman was going all over the United States because she was a prophetess. She always flew first class. The pastor’s family always sat in the first two pews. The pastor’s brother is a heroin addict. They made sure they pushed brother to the end of the pew so the wall would hold him up. I felt for the pastor. He is a good person. He gave that building to his mom. She’s a prophetess so she should have seen that coming. Her son the pastor opened another church. I told my ex that I can’t do this nonsense anymore. From now on when I pay my tithes someone in need . They will come forth, and they did. If not there are people who are hungry, and in need of coats and underwear. That is how I will pay my tithes from now on. I told my ex “I don’t understand how you can go to any church after what happened to your sister pursuing that devil Jim Jones. We know how that worked out. She came back in an air-tight aluminum casket because she was so decomposed. All these NDEs come back with the same answer. Love is always the answer.

Karen, grateful that you shared your story. Besides the impact that it had in your own life and your own journey, it is much bigger than that. People of all walks of life that go through this type of experience are inserted back into their own group or community to spread the word, to give them a little nudge in the right direction, to get them to start thinking and wondering about life, to get them to take a step, as small as it may seem, towards the path of remembering who we really are. We are all love, we came from love and we will go back to love. Each individual has their own pace and time to get there, and we need to realize that is ok. As we take our steps forward, we can hold their hands and help them when they are ready to take another step, just like the ones that came before us hold ours. Realize that you are holding somebody’s hands by sharing your experience. Much love and blessings to you. 🙏🏻

You are allowed to ask if he is ok? I did and my friend who passed from an awful car crash was brought to see me with his guardian angel. He told me not to cry anymore because there is no sadness nor sorrow in heaven. However, I was brazen enough to ask what he was doing! (What was I thinking? ) He was dressed in a long white robe, sandals on his feet. Thin leather belt around his waist. He told me he had to pray for the holy souls in purgatory. So I was a bit taken aback and sarcastic, not his fault, how I was raised. So I thought..huh? So much for being an angel and bouncing around the clouds twanging on a harp then?? You have to WORK?! Thought you got to have a blast and have fun? Don't you get rewarded? He vanished then. I got to telepathically pick up... Not too hot, not too cold, just right..warm. Not too bright, not too dark, just right. Children aborted, murdered, die from eg cancer? Drowning, car wreck etc? They grow up there. They get taught under olive trees. No clue what one was until I came to live in California and finally saw and then remembered oh! Yeah! That's the tree they sit under to learn their school lesson on the grassy lawn! Their guardian angel is with them and teachers too. There is a ton! A ton of laughing, giggling, singing, skipping, running, playing, walking, talking and joy going on. There are terraces for gardening on high mountain ranges. There is a huge white marbke building with like 60ft pillars of white material marble? Painted concrete? No idea. Flat 2 steps up to the doors and its one gigantic library inside. There is huge alpine meadow full on long green grass, scattered with the most gorgeous flowers. Lots of trees. Everyone was in these roman type toga white robes. Sandals on the feet. I didn't see any animals but I wasn't let see anything else. You get to be helped back to good health first, then get taught what you did right, what you could have done better. After that, folk like yourself who love so much and are attached so strongly to the person are allowed to see you and talk to you. This will happen if it helps you. If it stops you on your path of life? It may not be granted. You didn't do anything wrong it's just the emotions are too new, strong and may pull them away from their healing up there. Pray daily. Ask your guardian angel to help you. He'll be thrilled. They wait on us to ask for help and we rarely do. So let the guilt go. Because we have free will. He's gonna see and learn that up there. You did what you could, to the best of your ability. And it was and is good enough. So forgive yourself (very hard) then forgive him that this earth got the better of him. Pray for him, tell him you still love him. Then? Remember to love yourself, be good to yourself. You're going to be fine. Talk to your guardian angel when things start getting to be too much. Ask for help to see the bright side of your life and where the love is. If you don't have friends to help you, do you or can you get a pet? Can you afford even a goldfish! Lol. You need something to concentrate on and take your mind off being down and out. Even a couple of potted plants? Flowers? Bird feeder to watch their antics as you have a cup of tea and a couple of biscuits? Any charity to volunteer at to keep busy and see others are worse off than you, so help yourself to see you are still in a good place? Any family to help? Any grief group to share your worries and so cut them in half? Mind yourself. Mothers have the hardest job. Loving and having to let go. Ill put you on my prayer list. Watch for feathers and or bright new shiny pennies showing up or his fave song on tv or radio. Keep a diary of your dreams. Slowly you'll see you're not alone afterall. God bless and keep you always.

@@sheilasullivan1950 you have no idea how much you just helped me. I can’t tell you the love and appreciation I have for you taking the time to explain this. I talk to him all the time, I know I have to keep going, especially for his two little boys 13 and 5 years old. His EX took his boys away from him and they were his whole world. Again thank you and I will talk to his angels. Love and respect to you and for helping those in need. I call those people earth Angels and believe you are one of them.

I sure that many of us was searching for this kind of testimony because of the fear of death. For me, this is the reason that brought me here and search for some answers.A guru (Mooji), said that Death is the most powerful tool that GOD made up , so we can search within ourselves that eternal soul ! More and more NDE`rs talk about the fear of death, that is doesn`t exists! This episode has touched this point. Thanks again Alex and Karen ! Much LOVE for both of you

Many religions capitalize on the natural human fear of death. You are correct about that being a tool used by some religions in order to maintain power over others. Personally, my experience erased any fear of death that I had previously. Fear can be created by unfounded beliefs, but actual experience of God's unconditional love removes those unfounded fears forever. That has been my experience anyway.

@@karenthomas7235 Thanks for answers.I always go with my inner voice, but is so hard to listen when is whispering and you can`t hear it because of all the trafic chat of the mind :( Indeed my fear of death is learned by concepts of religion.I try so hard to calm things down and just enjoy my little piece of god that is put in me :)

Wow what a coincidence… I have been fearing death since I started experiencing panic attacks…they brought me to NDE’s and so far I feel much better with the fact that we all going to die one day, but I always feared of “nothing “ once we die so I lived a life where I did not appreciate things and rushed myself into things.. once panic attack striked 😅 mooji was also sent to me I believe by universe, he’s such an amazing guru, I love learning from him, I do guided meditation with mooji every single day now and I cannot thank him enough for guiding us through life 🙏 but when I read your comment and I seen you mentioned him I thought I will share my story too ❤️
