This is why I would like some training requirements or knowledge testing in firearm purchases but completely understand that too many Anti's want to use that as a wall against gun owners. There used to be a time where firearms skills were passed down in the family and I suspect there are many now days that purchase a gun with no REAL knowledge and aren't interested in learning more because they believe they know what they need to know. They never practice to get familiar, and it just sits in their draw for that emergency. Yes it's their right, but it also doesn't help the image of firearms owners when accidents happen due to lack of competency.

I do disagree if someone made forced entry into your home, you have every right to defend your homestead. This has been natural law in these United States sence the founding. If you're a dipshit and left the door unlocked. And shoot someone that is not a lethal threat. You should still be protected by Castle Doctrine. Controversial but should be the law. Don't fuck around in people's homes where you are not invited. It's very simple.
