What an absolutely beautiful creature. I can never own one, but I enjoyed watching him, especially the closeups where I could see details of his scale geometry, color gradations, and bright eye. It’s great that they are relatively handleable, not seriously dangerous like some others. (Looking at you, green iguana, and you’re not the only one.) As you suggest, a good pet for someone with the problem of too much money.

@nathanielleack48424 жыл бұрын
So many of the lizards that score low on your channel have a common theme that goes beyond them being demanding to care for. Other than the large monitors that could be dangerous of course. They are wild farmed and imported en masse rather than bred for demand. They are stressed. They have parasites. They may be bad tempered. They may be wounded by other lizards during importing. They may even die on arrival such as the chinese water dragon. I bet so many of these lizards could be far more achievable pets if only they were captive bred and genuinely looked after. It breaks my heart that this probably wont ever change

Okay, so I know your fan base isn’t the largest - but with every new video you post, my need (NEED!) for Clint’s reptiles merch grows bigger. By the standard of your videos and your logo, you seem to have a great graphic designer and I have a great need for a pretty t-shirt with some of the lovely Clint quotes. I mean: ‘when you’re a noodle with a head, the world is a scary place’? Yes. ‘Blinking is for mortals’? Also yes. ‘Stinking rad’, ‘awesome’, ‘spectacular’? I would buy all of these! Even from this video - I want a shirt saying ‘you’ve ever chased down a snail?’ I don’t know, it’s just a thought. I absolutely love your show, and I would personally love some merch :D

This is a gorgeous lizard. Looks like it's covered in polished jade. I guess on the upside, if you can afford the expensive enclosure and such, you at least get a nice lizard to interact with which is more than one can say for some of them. I think a tegu would be a lot more manageable, just because the lack of a water feature takes away an order of magnitude in cost and maintenance. I'm still inclined to think a snake would be a better choice for me though.

This lizard makes a cameo appearance in Jurassic World as one of Dr. Henry Wu's mutant lab animals (presumably prototype experimental animals before moving on to creating the Indominus rex and the Indoraptor). Here's a list of Dr. Wu's mutant lab animals: A caiman lizard with macaw-like feathers instead of scutes on its back An axolotl with a dorsal fin similar to a Dimetrodon's A strangely intelligent veiled chameleon that grabs its insect prey with its hands instead of its tongue A two-headed ball python (although two-headed snakes do exist) And in the junior novel adaptation, he also have a monkey with bat-like wings, a strangely muscular mouse, and a fish with clawed hands and feet instead of pectoral and pelvic fins.

Everyone talks about the parasites and such with imported animals but we are generally not getting these animals direct, they are coming from a reptile retailer that has or should have already taken care of those issues. I guess it is important to know who you are dealing with and ask them directly about treatment for these issues.
