Pretty closely related to tegus. I'm planning an enclosure for one, which is what brought me here. This looks a little small, but I'm interested in how well it coexists with that frog and those fish, and I'm curious how long they all lived together for, with what kind of problems.

Caiman Lizards are so beautiful and fascinating. I first saw them at Brookfield Zoo and was immediately infatuated with them. They have extremely specialized diets (snails) and environmental requirements (Very large semi-aquatic) making them unsuitable for keeping outside of the most experienced keepers. I still enjoy seeing them either way. :)

@KressRudra 4 жыл бұрын
@@metamorphosisx6641 if you want you can do that but for planted tanks its not really necessary as plants will simply break down the waste and use it as nutrients, which will be further aided by the nitrifying bacteria. it would just be for aesthetics, especially if you plan to use light-colored sand like in the video in which case waste might stand out more in. either way you wouldn't require siphoning more than once every few weeks or months depending on how planted your set up is and how you prefer the look of the tank

You should get the pure freshwater archer fish for the tank, the species is toxotes blythii, they need pure freshater and rarely get to be a max of 6 inches in captivity. Just make sure if you get some, to not get 2 because one will bully the other to death. SO either 1 or more than 2;)

I have a 120cm discus paludarium, with only fish and it is completely open to the air and has a weeper hose dripping slowly from the top like a soft rain. I have to cut the plants back every week the tropical plants grow so well. My setup cost me about $700 with the discus.
