I had a trio of green tree frogs many years ago, and i can attest to how widely varied they can be as individual personalities. One was a killer, as soon as food entered the aquarium, it was already lights out for a few poor souls, like a homing missle. One, was a bit like a tarantula, if you didn't bump into him, or otherwise crawl directly into his mouth, you were probably fine. The other, aptly named "loco" can be accurately summarized with "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA" loved those little guys.

My scariest mini-predator list would include dragonflies and all related species. Not only can they fly extremely fast, and actively hunt their prey, but have pinpoint accuracy that’s both amazing and terrifying.

I love these guys! They are super cute and gentle! When I was a kid, I lived across from an elementary school. I used to catch these guys from the school because the kids would find them and play with them and a lot of times the frogs would get hurt. After catching them, I’d re-home them in my vegetable garden. Which had lots and lots of bugs. At one point I had so many frogs in my yard, you could hear a chorus of frog songs pretty loudly at night! It stayed like that for a long while. Our yard didn’t have a bug problem, they had a lovely home, and I got sung to every night!

I like that he’s very direct and also very realistic. Like when you go to a reptile expo the workers there could care or not so the advice can be sketchy but you can tell he really cares, and you can tell he tries to make good points for parents.

Reptile expos are definitely hit and miss. You can get the best and worst advice. My rule of thumb is checkout tables where they are obviously breeders first. Come to the tables that are just retail shops last.

You should do firebelly toads eventually. My dad had one when I was a young child and I liked having it kept in my room because it had such a cute, personable face. It learned that singing would get the humans to bring crickets so we would feed it whenever it asked for food. I remember many a night where I would yell out "Dad, the toad's hungry!" because its singing woke me up.

​@@ClintsReptilesyeah, the big fears are invasive species (we have a population of random iguanas that escaped illegal captivity lol) because it's a small island, and also the pet trade and poaching, so lobbying for captive reptiles is not a big priority for nature groups. But on the other hand, permits and safe herp keeping will help the abysmal conditions these animals are smuggled in for sure (because of course people still have them here).

My daughters 2 and 9 both caught one each and they love them. We have been feeding them crickets, and they seem very happy in a semi translucent pitcher, we keep it well misted and keep the pitcher to the strainer gate on the lid so there is excellent ventilation

I found one of these for the first time on a trip to Florida, I'm from the midwest so I'm used to grey tree frogs so it was far more unique to me to find a green tree frog, also had an anole literally fall into my hands after I thought he got away, it just slipped and I caught him with cupped hands so like I'm a legend

You do a fantastic job on showcasing all these wonderful species. I wouldn't be shocked if schools or pet store managers or any other groups that educate, would recommend, share or show your videos. The video footage is incredibly valuable. Being able to see these animals up close and how they move, teaches a lot. Pictures are far too limited. Also, there is always a chance that a species will change over time and so because of that, these videos are like time capsules for the future to look into the past, without the need for fossils or preserved species. . It's fun to laugh and be entertained with videos, but educational videos like this (besides me loving them), improve the life of non-human creatures, by convincing people to choose a pet that is best suited for their own situation. Basically, if you see a picture or video clip or hear about something and you think it would be cool to have as a pet, you can look up Clint's Reptiles and see what they look like and how they act and what he has to say about them, to help you make a better decision than you would on your own. . Pets are broken down into simple categories that lets you consider "I think I want a pet spider. Well, I could have a black widow spider. I could brag and show it off to my friends that I'm a risk taker. However, I could have a jumping spider instead and have a lot more fun and have people say "awww he's so cute" when they see him and not risk being bitten by a black widow on accident."

Found a really brightly green one today on my parents back door of their brand new house. Mom was freaking out so I gathered him up to carry him to the forest outside. Dude was super friendly. Didnt try to jump away, just positioned himself in my hand so he was facing me. Finally got him to walk across my fingers to a tree branch so I could go back inside and wash my hands lol

April 2, 2024, ...About a 1/2 hour ago, around 2am, one must have climbed through my window opened just a crack . I'm next to the Tennessee River 20 miles east of Muscle Shoals, Alabama. I'm sitting in my room working on a song in the middle of the night, look over at my mic stand , and there he is......or maybe a she-frog...., perched on the boom part of the stand like it was a tree branch. Cute little bugger. Never heard it come in ! I got my little net, gently scooped him up and put him on a tree outside. Wish I could post a picture. Real bright green.

My grey tree frigs are so much fun as well! They can change color and texture like crazy! They are stupid fast to eat any feeders in their tank. My long tailed lizard is pretty active hunter as well. Personally I love the small animals, you just need to look a bit closer than say, a Goliath frog. But they are just amazing creatures, though I havent ever kept green tree frogs before, thank you for the video!

9:20 Ill yell you all how they afford that now that i understand it. About a year and a half ago i got some pet Mystery Snails. 6 of em. Amazing lil guys, within a month i found a clutch of eggs. Within 6 or so months i had about a dozen clutches of eggs. Each clutch produced an estimated 80-300 eggs based on my counts. Only 2 or 3 clutches were infertile. So, i now have sold (less than $2 each) and given away plenty of snails but it still isnt remotely fast enough to clear my tank. I had to seperate the adults and now im stuck with a couple of aquariums with thousands of babies im trying to rehome 😂. Its going well though! Frogs like these snails, have hundreds - thousands of babies at once, and most people cant house more than a couple. Meaning after 1 reproduction cycle youll already need about a hundred customers! Pretty amazing animals, its crazy how much genetic information fits in those little egg bunches

I've had green tree frogs in the past here in Canada. The pet store I work at we don't bring them in Often but it's rare they are not on our availability list. Pretty fun activity little guys. And my lovebirds found that they can set the frogs chirping off by calling to them. Also a good recommendation for a plant light would be the fulval nano c.o.b. aquarium light it's intended for small aquariums for lower light plants but I've had good luck growing dusk moss mix, nerve plants and a large bromilade in my dart frog enclosure

Of all my reptiles the most "terrifying hunters" are my Desert Kingsnake and African Fire Skink. Vicious, really fast hunters. Lots of personality.
