Makes me think of Fate/Kaleid which has a character named Chloe, which gets pronounced Ku-roh-ee, and sometimes is just shortened to Kuro. In the dub and sub rather than her being Chloe/Clo, she’s just Kuro. Which is also hilarious because in the English version of the game her name is still Chloe. I imagine it’s at least partly because the anime was produced by a different company than like all of the other animated stuff, same as why it’s the only Fate dub I’ve heard that has different VAs than all the others (and good god is it bad) but it still makes for an amusing inconsistency. Course it’s also inconsistent in how explicitly it sexualizes literal grade schoolers compared to the rest of fate too which is probably the bigger issue tbh
