Good stuff to know in a world of 1/16 note runs where you are judged by speed (guitar player)

The motif you are talking about at 3:07 G, Bb, G, Ab, C, sounds like another tune I recognize but do not know the title of, I think it's well known. Does anyone know the name of this other tune? The tune I'm talking about goes back to Bb at the end instead of C.

Hi Gabriel, yes it sounds familiar, but I think its just a particularly well balanced motif that Miles uses and then refers back to each time, to reinforce the sound of it in our ears. He didn't like playing quotes in solos, so I don't think he's consciously quoting anything. But I could be wrong. Who really knows! Thanks.
