Summary: Flora and Franklin Gibbs head off to Las Vegas for a two-night, all-expense-paid vacation won by Flora in a contest. Franklin has agreed to go with her but he is unimpressed with the place, especially the casino looking down on all of those poor fools, as he calls them, playing slot machines. He severely admonishes Flora when she puts a nickel in a slot machine, accusing her of throwing away her money. When a drunken gambler gives him a dollar and insists that he play the machine, Franklin wins and there begins his descent into madness.

Why was Twilight Zone in Black & White? Television shows were cheaper to produce in Black & White. Show producers did not really think into the future about there still being a market for a year decades later. Most network shows were being made in color by 1965 but Twilight Zone ended production in 1964. Another consideration was the availability of color televisions. When The Twilight Zone went on the air in 1959, most if not all televisions were Black & White, so it wouldn't have helped to make it in color.

Now in today's world with the newer modern machines it's even worse! Hardly anyone wins much anymore it's Terrible!!!!!

Everett Sloane was an outstanding character actor who tragically died a few years after filming this episode.

Please note, the slot machines are extremely colorful Irl. Look up yellow rol a top slot machine. They were very elaborate. There was also a big to-do on keeping these away from anyone. They were illegal in CA in 1961. So they had to use confiscated ones and they had their own guard so they wouldn't vanish. They also weighed about 80lbs.

I'm guilty of scratcher fever! Lol. Put in 50 of mad money (which was what women used if they got mad on a date and wanted to go home) and get 45 back! LOL If you put it back in (we don't see prize money like we do paycheck money), you'll probably lose it. Hahs
