He was correct, but affirmative action was brought forth because of the horrible history of Slavery and, at the moment, Jim Crow. Sports are totally different from the reality you walk into after leaving the arena or music booth. Affirmative action helped only white women and immigrants

You don’t get it. It’s very simple grasshopper. If the free market can bare it, you charge it. Says any business owner. Atheletes are business owners, they perform a service for a fee. As a carpenter I do the same. Unfortunately I can only service ONE person at a time. Pro athletes millions at a time. Therefore their millions in contracts.

White people had ZERO problem having the advantage for centuries!! Roughly, the founding of the US until around 1964. Let this sink in. We are celebrating the 60 year anniversary of The Beatles on the Ed Sulllivan show February 2nd, 1964. The Civil Rights Bill was signed July 2nd, 1964. Americans in mass were bopping to The Beatles while Blacks were being murdered for wanting to be treated equally. As a society we've expected centuries of violent oppression to be rectified in just 60 years. Thats if you count the years several government institutions refused to follow the law to begin with. MLK is killed just short of 4 years after the laws passing.

Meanwhile every other immigrant to the US has found a way to go from having nothing to being successful in the US with less time than blacks have had in America. And stop acting like blacks had nothing before the civil rights act.

Affirmative action is anti-human. Everybody is not equally endowed with the same level of accomplishment, skill , success, or intelligence.

What if all things ARE equal?? WHO gets the opportunity?? Who DECIDES the tie breaker?? If you think no person of color is equal to, or better than, a white person. WE think that's inhumane. I had to check myself as I grew into adulthood. Thinking, by what I was born into, that I was better or smarter than black people. It didn't take long to realize I was very wrong. I think some people are stuck in the mentality they were born into, but fail to realize how it influences their present thinking.

I mean I think the AFL would've had better marketing, the sports industry is just subsidized. More athletes don't go to college, rather then the other way around. I don't know why they market sports that way though, they're not all privatized.
@apertureonline9566
@apertureonline9566 Ай бұрын
I also think this is an issue with doctors, I think that college is a collapsing industry. I don't necessarily like mainstream DEI arguments, but pharmacies should be able to market directly to consumers. They should honestly market testing like 3D printing I feel. I think the regulation causes shortages, I feel like Kamala is just being a socialist but the stories are planted fake representation obscuring the issues to create more regulations. I remember seeing Milton Friedman talking about how the old America was able to encourage immigration in the correct way. I think if people had more freedoms, they would have broader opportunities and statistics would be more reflective of the population as a whole.

Bro, what are you talking about? The AFL merged with the NFL in 1970, which was 54 years ago. The NFL and NBA don't allow straight from high school prospects in their leagues, the NFL, never, and the NBA since 2006. MLB and NHL still allow straight from high school prospects, but they're rarely stars.
@apertureonline9566
@apertureonline9566 Ай бұрын
@lmchankins this just sounds like you're talking to me like I'm some child, that not at all what I meant. By merging, the basically dissolved, but the UFL is back. The entire industry should be privatized though, the NBA has never even had the same level of privatization.
@lmchankins
@lmchankins Ай бұрын
@apertureonline9566 Maybe I misunderstood what you're talking about, but that's not difficult in this situation. You need to get someone to proofread this. FYI, the stadiums are subsidized by taxpayers, not the franchises themselves.

note that this point falls apart when you consider "privileges" to include the gov being selective in its removal of harms against different groups in varied distribution
@jimhughes1070
@jimhughes1070 Ай бұрын
Not at all... Your point establishes the fact... A privilege allowed to one group, simultaneously restricted for another group, is exactly the same crime. in the Bible it's called "having respect of persons"... It's the definition of bigotry. The God of the Bible has no such problem... And nothing escapes His Surveillance...
@taylorlbritton

@@jimhughes1070 If there are two people and i am a contract thief. And i am asked by my gang leader to steal from both people, and i choose to only steal from one person. IT IS NOT WORSE THAT I AM BEING UNFAIR. I am doing harm to less people. the person i am still still stealing from is not further harmed by me not stealing from the second. The morality of my actions on the injured party are separate from the actions no longer preformed on the second party. If i then choose to steal more one the one and not the other, that is still a separate harm. It is not more moral to make my harms more equitable. This is basic monkey-caking to desire to distribute wrongs. Reductions of harms are good, even if they arent evenly reduced.
